Where would you go, no more than a 3 hour drive from Queens?

Newport, RI (may be expensive) or anywhere in the Mystic, CT area.
DH and I recently went to a B&B near New Hope PA and we had the most amazing time there. We loved the historic inns and cute shops.

Block Island. DH and I took the ferry over and rented bikes for the whole weekend. We loved it!

What about Mohonk Mountain House:
http://www.mohonk.com/. They have everything from a spa, hiking, horseback riding, etc. Steven King sometimes goes there to write.
What about Skytop lodge? About 2-3 hours away in the Poconos.

I know 2 other resorts but they are closer to 4-5 hour drives. The Woodstock Inn & Resort in Vermont and the Omni Mount Washington Inn in New Hampshire.
