Medicated (injectables) IUI/Timed BD Protocols?
Hello ladies! We are gearing up for out first injectable IUI cycle. I was just wondering what your protocols were. I know that everyone is different, but I'd just like to hear some so I can prepare myself. TIA!

Re: Medicated (injectables) IUI/Timed BD Protocols?
I was on Gonal-F injections for 19 days! They took the 'low and slow' approach with me because they didn't want me to hyperstim. I started off at 37.5 for about 10 days, then they up'd my dosage to 75, then finally up'd it to 112.5 which ultimately worked. 4 follies matured with the 112.5. I triggered last Tuesday and had my IUI on Thursday.
Good Luck!!!

Re: Medicated (injectables) IUI/Timed BD Protocols?
Originally we were doing timed intercourse and mid-cycle decided to do an IUI...
I started on 2.5mg of femara, then went to 5mg of femara, then went on 75ius of gonal-f for a few nights, went back and then was doubled to 150ius of gonal-f for a few nights.. then my uterine lining was still on the thinner side so I took Estradiol (basically an estrogen pill) for 2 days, triggered on the last night of that medication, then went in for my IUI the next day and the day after that (did back-to-back)
I hope that wasn't too confusing! Pending the results of this cycle, I'll be starting all over again in about a week or so Hopefully I'll get some good news this for my DH's birthday!!!
Good luck!!!
Oh, and the IUI was totally painless!!
ETA: Just wanted to add, in total I was using meds for about 3 to 3 1/2 weeks till I was able to trigger. It took time to figure out the right dose of everything..... But you know what they say... Slow and steady.......

Thank you! The last time we did an IUI (One year ago tomorrow), it was on 100mg clomid, and I only had one follie and I never triggered. So I am hoping now under an RE's watchful eye and injectibles...we will be on the right track!

I hope so too!! Good luck! Those injects really aren't NEARLY as bad as I worked them up to be in my head!! You'll be fine and I bet you'll develop some good follies too!!

Re: Medicated (injectables) IUI/Timed BD Protocols?
We started on a low level as well. We used Gonal-F. It was about 8-10 days on Gonal-F, then we were going to add the Ganirelix in the AM so we could stop ovulation until the eggs were "ready". Then a trigger shot, then the IUI. Not bad at all. The needles are so teeny tiny it's fine.
All of my thoughts and prayers with you and I hope this works!!

Re: Medicated (injectables) IUI/Timed BD Protocols?
this may be longish so bear with me .
i have PCOS and have only done combo cycles of injectables with femara.
my first injectable cycle i started on 2.5mg femara cd4-8 and 150ius follistim cd4,6,8,10. went in for monitoring on CD12 and dr. b says "OH so you are one of THOSE patients." im like . turns out i hyperstimmed and had 10+ mature follies. my cycle got cancelled and i had to do BCP to get rid of the follies.
so next cycle after BCP we were to start slow and steady since we knew 150ius would hyperstim me.. so we starts femara 2.5mg cd1-5, gonal-f 37.5ius cd 1,3,5,7. went in and nothing was doing so added Gonal-F 75ius CD9. On CD10 nothing was going on so we kind of started over with Femara 5mg CD11-15 and Gonal-F 75ius CD11,13,15,17. Back for U/S on CD18 and I had ONE 14mm Follie. At that point I switched back to Follistim since I wasn't responding ell with the Gonal-F - so I did 75ius CD18,19,20,21. CD21 FINALLY TWO FOLLieS 19mm & 18mm! Ovidrel trigger on CD22. We did timed BD and I ovulated around CD23/24. The end result was a chemical pregnancy but that was the protocol that ultimately got me to O.
I am on a meds break right now but when I am ready to go back the protocol will prob be the same - femara either 2.5 or 5, combined with follistim 75ius.
