med records

how do i go about get a copy of my med records from obgyn? i want to get a copy for myself to give to my RE in case i ever want to switch i have my own copies...

i called ob but got machine.....i saw some posts where girls went there & made there own copies. they actually give you the records?

a lot of places require that you submit a request for paperwork, by filling out a form or sending a fax. SOmetimes all you have to do is call to request it and they will mail it out or call you when it is ready. Each place is different, i would try to call tomorrow when somoene is in the office to find out. It shouldn't be a problem getting them, it just may take a few days.

I called the dr. and told them I needed a copy of the records, they didn't ask what they were for. They prepared them for me and I picked them up. MY DH dr. wanted to charge him X amount of cents per page. Depends on dr.
