I always make the one on the back of the Lipton Onion Soup Mix box. I use meatloaf mix and spread a little bbq sauce on the top for the last 1/2 hour. Yum!!

I don't even know if they sell this in stores anymore. I've been searching and haven't seen it. I think I used a bbq sauce called bulls eye or red bull, something with bull in the name and it's good. I wouldn't use kraft, I'm not a fan.

Re: Meatloaf Recipe

I made it and honestly DH loved but we both agreed that it had too much onion, I would definitely leave out the chopped onion since you are using the lipton mix.

Re: Meatloaf Recipe

I'm such a day late here, but I hate meatloaf. Usually. This is Martha Stewart's mother's recipe. Which I love.

* 4 slices white bread, torn into pieces
* 2 1/2 pounds ground beef
* 1 medium yellow onion, peeled and cut into eighths
* 2 cloves garlic
* 2 stalks celery, cut into 2-inch pieces
* 2 carrots, peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces
* 1/2 cup flat-leaf parsley leaves
* 1 large egg
* 1 cup ketchup
* 3 teaspoons dry mustard
* 1 tablespoon coarse salt
* 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
* 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Directions

1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Place bread in the bowl of a food processor fitted with the steel blade; pulse until fine crumbs form. Transfer to a medium bowl, and add ground beef.
2. Place onion, garlic, celery, carrots, and parsley in the bowl of a food processor fitted with the steel blade; pulse until fine. Add to meat mixture, using hands to mix well. Add egg, 1/2 cup ketchup, 2 teaspoons dry mustard, salt, and pepper; use hands to combine thoroughly. Place in an 8 1/2-by-4 1/2-by-2 1/2-inch loaf pan.
3. Combine remaining 1/2 cup ketchup, remaining teaspoon dry mustard, and brown sugar in a bowl; stir until smooth.
4. Brush mixture over meatloaf; place in the oven with a baking pan set on the rack below to catch drippings. Cook until a meat thermometer inserted in the center reads 160 degrees, about 90 minutes. If top gets too dark, cover with foil, and continue baking.

Re: Meatloaf Recipe

hands down my favorite!
(I omit the bacon, and it's so flavorful that it's not missed at all)
Bacon Cheeseburger Meatloaf
By, Paula Deen
1 pound ground chuck (lean)
10 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 (8-ounce) package sharp Cheddar, grated (fat free works)
2 large eggs, lightly beaten (2 whites work)
1/4 cup bread crumbs, toasted
1/4 cup mayonnaise (light works)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt (omitted)
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/3 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1 (3-ounce) can French fried onions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, combine the ground chuck and next 8 ingredients, mixing well.
In a small bowl, combine the ketchup and mustard. Stir 1/4 cup ketchup mixture into meat mixture, reserving remaining ketchup mixture.
Press meat mixture into a 9 by 5 by 3-inch loaf pan, or shape into a loaf and place on a rack in a broiler pan. Spread remaining ketchup mixture over loaf. Bake 40 minutes. Top with French fried onions; bake another 10 to 15 minutes, or until meat is no longer pink.

Re: Meatloaf Recipe

I used this recipe and posted it on LIW and boosh/Don and Palebride used it and LOVED it. You could also put cheese in the middle.

Prep Time: approx. 15 Minutes. Cook Time:
approx. 1 Hour . Ready in: approx. 1 Hour 15 Minutes. Makes 6
servings.

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1 egg
1 dash ground black pepper (I used more than a dash...DH likes "kick")
1 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup steak sauce, (e.g.
Heinz 57)...I used A1 Steak Sauce
1 onion, chopped
1/2 cup diced green bell pepper

Directions
1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Lightlygrease (or use a non-stick) loaf pan.
2 In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, egg, black pepper and bread crumbs. Pour in the milk, 3 tablespoons of the steak sauce, onion and green bell pepper.
3 Place the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and shape
into a loaf. Brush the top with the remaining steak sauce.
4 Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until done.
Allow to stand 5 minutes before slicing

Re: Meatloaf Recipe

I actually made this this weekend. It's really good!

1 1/2 -2 lbs ground beef (I used the meatloaf mix that's pork, veal, and beef)

2 eggs

1 cup of breadcrubms (the recipe calls for plain breadcrumbs, but I've used the Italian seasoned kind in the past and it's yummy too)

1/3 cup onions diced

1/3 cup of worschestchire sauce

1/4 cup of ketsup

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix together and put it all in a greased loaf pan. Add a little extra worschestchire sauce to the top of the meat once it's in the pan. Bake UNCOVERED for an hour. Let stand for 10 mins.

It's sooooooo good! I"m actually having some of the leftovers for lunch today!
