Max and Ruby vent / advice needed
Our three year old, despite being initially delayed verbally, is now quite a verbose child. She speaks in paragraphs with sophisticated vocabulary and sayings.
Anyways, she recently started watching Max and Ruby (which is an annoying show for many reasons...), and I noticed shortly after that she would start speaking in repetitive one-word phrases, like Max. I instantly banned th show, but she continues to do this (i.e. She will come up to me if she's playing with a bus and say, "bus" / if she wants something to eat, she will just state it in one word instead of asking for it in a full sentence like she always did). She sounds like a one year old instead of a verbal three year old.
At first I started making her tell me what she wanted to say in a full sentence, but then I thought that was giving it too much attention some started ignoring it. But it persists! I don't know what else to do.
Any advice? I'm so pissed at NickJr!

Max and Ruby vent / advice needed
My almost 4yo just went through a similar phase. She's always spoken in full sentences from a very young age and we always tried to encourage it. Suddenly she started saying things like "C____ hungry" and it was making me crazy to hear her talk like a baby. I sometimes corrected her, sometimes ignored it and it seems to have passed. Fwiw, she's never watched nick Jr

This happened with DS as well. Same exact scenario as with your DD. We stopped all watching of the show, and his vocabulary went back to normal. That's a really bad show, and there have been a few discussions on LIF about parent's DC losing vocabulary skills because of that show.
