Math Problem
At work math word problemo of the day:
If 1 employee orders 3 sushi rolls,
another orders a small soup & a soda,
Would you split the tax & tip equally?
How would you do this?

Math Problem
If I was the small soup and soda portion, I'd estimate my portion, round up to the nearest dollar, give another dollar for tax/tip and hand to the sushi roll person for them to pay the remainder.

Re: Math Problem
Yes because the tax isn't going to be a huge difference between the two and the tip should be split equally for the delivery service.
The person ordering the 3 rolls, should, of course pay more because their food is more.
But the tip would be the same if they were delivering a $5 item or a $20 item- so that I would split equally
And the tax- it's not going to be a huge difference. Easier to split
And now.... I want SUSHI!

I'd round up a couple dollars to account for tax and tip. So say the rolls were $10 and the soup/soda was $5, I'd probably hand over $8.

Re: Math Problem
small soup and a soda is what? 2.50-3$? I would just pay for it all if I liked the person.

Yes! Absolutely. It's so immaterial in this instance that I woudn't even think or want to be bothered to split the tax and tip differently.

This
When ordering at work, everyone should add up what they owe and throw in an equal amount towards tip. Unless you are getting practically the same thing +or- a $1 or $2. Then I would just split it
P.S. I always hated ordering at work with a group because there was always someone with the most complicated order and it would never be priced the same as the menu

thanks for the input.
I was feeling cheap thinking the other person ordering should chip in for the delivery. She orders often, but usually orders small things, like an egg roll, or just a soup, and doesn't give me extra for tax or tip. But she's the cheapo.
Although, today, she did give me double the amount the food cost, so maybe she's making up for all the cheapo days. But I wonder if she's a fast reader, because I had this window open when she came into my office for something. She looked at my screen while I was on the phone.
Today's order was $4, she left me 2 fives (after I posted this thread) But I left the office in a hurry tonight & forgot it on the table she left it on.
Also, the sushi was so good.

Hahahhaa that's awesome that you don't give a $hit if she read it or not. Love love love it!!! Maybe she figures since the other person is already ordering and her items are a couple of dollars it doesn't matter? Not anymoreeeee
