Did anyone opt for this test? I'm 35 and the genetic counselor recommended it as a good non-invasive option for chromosomal screening. The results are supposed to be more accurate than the NT scan. I heard you can find out the gender. Is that true??

Hi yes - thats true. In fact I just did it yesterday so now the 2 week wait for the results. I did it with my daughter too and we were able to find out the sex at 15 weeks with her.

Re: MaterniT21
My doctor told me this was not an elective test but had to be recommended by your doctor if they feel it would be medically necessary. It was offered to me bc of results of NT scan but we opted not to do it. He did state you can find out gender (we already knew) and that's part of the reason its not elective.

Re: MaterniT21
Our DD had a persistant left umbilical vein so it was recommended to rule out Down's syndrome. It is A very non invasive test. The hardest part was waiting the 10 days. Couldn't sleep til we found out. We also got the sex confirmed as well.
