A: The bride price is an ancient custom, somewhat like a dowry. A man wishing to marry a woman would offer her family a Bride Price in cash or kind, or sometimes offer to work for their family.

A: If both parties work hard at it, yes, it can. The divorce rate for arranged marriages is exactly the same as those for marriages that are not pre-arranged.

how is this remotely legal? Isn't sex with a minor illegal regardless of parental approval?

Well, the answers to the FAQs are entirely inaccurate.
Marriage laws INCLUDING age of marriage are determined by the state. So you cannot get married at 13 in all states.
This is sick. Let your daughters grow up to be REAL, INTELLIGENT, INDEPENDENT women who make their OWN decisions.
Don't pimp our your daughter to the first guy who will marry her.

Good Lord!! I didn't realize this still existed. There are jurisdictions within the United States that allow minors as young as 13 to marry with parental permission. However, no matter what the Bible may say, this borders on slavery. You are paying someone to marry your minor child. You are selling your child. This is more than an arranged marriage. There is, also, the question of transporting a minor across state lines for the purposes of engaging in sex. No matter how much you pretty it up, that's what will happen. I just love it when people point to the Bible to justify their actions. These pedophiles (and that is EXACTLY what they are) need to be stopped.

BTW, I do believe there are SOME states that let you marry at 13 with parental consent, but they usually require a judge to approve of the wedding.
At any rate, if it's legit, it's the scariest thing I've seen in a long time.
It's 2007. Let's all get on the same page and start raising real women.

My post read incorrectly. I meant to say you can't get married that young in every state - you CAN get married that young in some states.
Many are 16 with parental consent.

And I think that's what the site means by " as young as", they are jsut playing up the insane marraige laws of places like New Hampshire where you can get married at 13 with parental & judical consent.
What judge is going to say "yes, you internet pervert, you can marry this 13 year old girl that you don't even know?"
I wonder how often that really happens.

We’re a Christian family and Cheyenne has had trouble with unchristian desires although at heart we know she's a good Christian girl. She needs a husband with STRONG Christian values who will provide her a STRONG Christian home and help her to live a godly life
