Re: male factor ?

We were told not to do any testing until we had been TTC for at least 5-6 months. IMO to test before trying naturally for a significant amount of time, at least for us, was unnecessary. We have no reason to believe we have issues (male OR female) after only trying since July. We are on the older end of the TTC-ers (Im 36, DH will be 36 next week) and are not too concerned about it.

ETA: But if you have been directed to do so by your physician, by all means, you should.

Re: male factor ?

Yes, we did. We were trying for 6 months, and we're both over 35.

Unfortunately for us, we found out that we have male factor issues (low motility and count). I am optomistic, and the urologist did say that it's not impossible for us to get pg naturally, so we try on our own.

If you're over 35 and it's been 6 months, then if your dr recommended your dh gets tested, then go. If not, then do not assume anything is wrong.

Re: male factor ?

My DH did when he was in his early 20's (he married very young with his 1st marriage). Although I had told him that it did not mean much "so many" years later.

I am 37 and DH is 38. We were "succesful" on the 2nd month of TTC.
