Make-up question for those who have tons!

How do you decide what to wear when? Do you match your eyeshadows to your outfits?

I feel like I have tons but always stick to the same colors while all the others go un-used.

I do the same thing. I have a TON of eyeshadows and glosses etc. and always wera the same ones.

Usaully pretty much use the same color, but it also depends on my clothes and the season.
In Fall I tend to do more browns or deep purple. In spring/summer I go lighter and if I'm tan, going to a formal event, etc.
Hmm... I guess this is why I'm always at the MAC or Chanel counter, sometimes CVS... and usually going through my mom's make-up draw since she has nice stuff.

A lot of times it depends on where I'm going and what time of the day. If it's a nighttime event, then I may do more color or heavier makeup. If it's daytime/casual, I tend to do neutrals. Sometimes if it's during the daytime, but a bit dressier, I may opt for a little more pigmentation/don't need it so natural looking.

I find myself using the same eye shadows for about a month or two, then I get bored and decide to switch it up to a different brand and colors. And usually once I switch up my eyeshadows, I end up changing my blush and lipgloss and/or lipstick. I like to experiment and play.

I attempt to do my eyemake using a color that I am wearing, or something that will accent what I am wearing. A lot of the time I just hues like a silvery color or a tan color...those are my fail safes

ETA: i never ever leave my house w/o under eye liner and mascara! That is a MUST!

Half the time I finish my makeup before I even decide what to wear. I just do what I am in the mood for but I do sometimes regret that it does not always "go."

I go through phases where I'll wear the same thing for a few weeks....

When I do turn to something different though, I choose based on my mood or outfit.

It's easy for me to get stuck in a rut, so I will look through my Lucky mag and decide, "Oh, red lips today!" but then I go into my bedroom and put the same color on as usual!

But I try to work with what will complement my outfit.

I wear neutrals most of the time.

I'll wear a little more color on my face and eyes if I'm wearing black or brown,, but if I"m wearing a brighter outfit then I keep it very natural.

I have a ton of makeup, but a lot of it seems to fall in the same color categories. I always use browns/neutrals on my eyes--but one day I may wear a shimmery powder, the next day a cream shadow etc. I always wear black eyeliner and lately I've been using a pencil, but I switch it up with liquid or cream eyeliner, I recently bought a very dark navy/black eyeliner, but haven't tried it out yet. So this really has no point, just that I have bags and bags of makeup and I try to dig through a different one each day to use it all.
