Maine
So while our stay in Newport, there were couples talking about how beautiful and family friendly ME is. Any recommendation of places to stay that would keep my 8, 5 and 2 year old happy and busy. What is there to do there? Sorry don't know much about ME.

Re: Maine
We went when DS1 was one and then again when my twins were one (last year). We chose to stay in southern Maine (Kennebunkport area). It is a easy drive to Portland and the outlets (LL Bean etc.) Maine is very family friendly. We prefer to find places on vrbo that offer kitchens. That being said we rented a unit at the Goose Rocks Resort both times. The units were pretty new, had a pool, was near the beach (had to drive though), AND had killer ice cream next door!!!!! We would get lobsters and cook them in the kitchen (the kitchens were well equipped). The only downfall of Maine are the mosquitos.

I asked this same question maybe a month or so ago. We ended booking in Ogunquit based on someone's recommendation. It's only. 4.5 hour drive from here.
