Lunch ideas for a one year old
DS is 13 months and I find that most days I just give him yogurt and puffs for lunch. He seems perfectly content, but I feel like I should be feeding him more. I usually have a salad for lunch so I can't give him what I'm eating. Can you share what you feed your toddlers for lunch? Thanks!

Jelly sandwich, grilled cheese sandwich (melted cheese on toast), yogurt, cheese stick, grapes, apple cut like French fries, blueberries, strawberries, orange, chicken nuggets, Mac & cheese
These are typical things I give my 16 MONTH old

I think this was a typo? But very funny!!!! Does sound like teen food.
I arrange an extra cooking session and make a protein for my kids. For example, turkey meatballs or grilled chicken. They eat this most the week with a side that comes from dinner the night before. If we run out, we supplement from left overs... Like fish or steak.
This week my kids ate green beans, corn on cob and spaghetti as the sides. We made a whole bunch of grilled chicken for the week.
My kids are 15 months and almost 3.

DD is the same. She typically eats a yogurt pouch for lunch and that's it except for some puffs or something as an after nap snack. Lately I've noticed she's getting pretty hungry an hour or two before dinner so I've been trying to get her to eat more in the middle of the day.
I've tried BH ham or turkey with crackers, fruit, grilled cheese, kashi cereal bars, shelled edamame.

My DS is 15 months. Typical lunch is a fruit pouch along with grilled cheese, cream cheese on toast, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese. Lately, I am lucky if he eats any of it instead of throwing it.

Lunch ideas for a one year old
Thanks everyone! I feel like I'm in such a rut food wise. Plus it didn't help that MIL babysat last night and gave me a whole lecture about how he isn't eating enough. Meanwhile, his appetite is great, she is just crazy and thinks he should be eating 24/7!!

Re: Lunch ideas for a one year old
When my DS was that age he would get a veggie, a fruit and a protein of some sort. I would give him chicken nuggets, veggie burger/meatballs, Dr. Praeger fish sticks or left overs from the night before...grilled chicken, steak, etc. I always had pasta on hand though just in case I didn't have a protein (not that pasta is an adequate substitute for that) so I would give him pasta with sauce and some cheese.
My DS also LOVES cream cheese and jelly sandwiches.

Re: Lunch ideas for a one year old
I'm so glad you posted this, I have been struggling with what to give LO.
He is 11 mths old and we started him on table food gradually awhile ago and he LOVES it, but I found that we were giving him the same stuff over and over.
I'm adding this thread to my Notebook.

I don't have a ton of variety in my almost 1 yr olds foods, but she will eat grilled cheese, pastina w/ butter, ricotta, any other cheese, yogurt, Mac and cheese,
Today for instance she had a yogurt and some of my leftover chicken and broccoli. I try to give her leftovers from dinner when I can. She's had penne ala vodka, chicken francese, chicken scampi... We're big on Italian in this household

I make my own when I can and do big batches so I can freeze some. Just cut into bite size pieces (I've done thighs or breasts), dip in a mix of olive oil and melted butter, then into seasoned bread crumbs and bake.

Re: Lunch ideas for a one year old
Ravioli (she devours the gerber graduate ones, but they have a lot of sodium so I don't give her them too often), boiled chicken with pasta & veggies, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, hard boiled egg.
