Low Progesterone
Hi everyone......
I am new to LIFamilies (just switched over from LIWeddings) and I want to say hello. I have actually been over on the TTC board for a while and I have a question that I thought might get more answers here....
Has anyone been diagnosed with low progesterone/LPD. Who do I see if I think I have this problem? Do I really have to wait a whole year if I think there is something wrong?
Thanks for the info.

Re: Low Progesterone
I have low progesterone. I would go to see a RE if you think something might be wrong. I have mine tracked with bloodwork right after I Ovulate and if its low I take it in my 2ww. You have to make sure you do not take it for too many days or else you will end up with a cyst like I did. The thing is also if you take it you have to take a pregnancy test after 14 days because you will not get your period on your own.

Re: Low Progesterone
Ive never heard of Progesterone suppliments causing a Cyst or any other problems. Other than mimicing pregnancy symptoms. I was on Crinone and i had to take it from Ovulation. And yes it will delay your period if you dont stop it soon enough.

Re: Low Progesterone
An RE could better answer your questions regarding how to go about treating your low P. It can either be with supplements, suppositories or injections (PIO). The "standard" is to try for a year and then if nothing happens to see a doctor about it. Depending on your medical history/age the age varies, I am not to sure about the age brackets, but I think if you are over 35, the wait time shortens, so it might just be 6 months, again I am not to sure.
I agree with Ang, i hvae never heard of cysts as a side effect from progesterone. The only side effect is intenst itching down there (Sorry tmi ). AF did show up as soon as I stopped taking the suppositories. GL!
