Low Motility
How many of your DH had issues with this? Dh was checked and my dctor said his motility is low, but not that low that we should have issues with getting pregnant. We have been trying for a year. We have tried both ways..having sex every other day and counting 10 days after my period and having sex for a week straight. She gave me the number to an RE so I am thinking I should at least go and get myself checked out and then take it from there what route we want to go.

Re: Low Motility
If it were me, knowing that info, I'd send dh to a urologist that specializes in infertility. And then if you've been trying for a year already i would start with the initial testing for yourself - bloodwork, hsg, post-coital. Have you been using opks this last year?

Re: Low Motility
I am not remembering motility, is that how they swim? My dh had problem with the morphology and we went to see a urologist. I would suggest going to one. My dh problem just meant it would take us alittle bit longer to conceive a baby. Doing IUI would help our chances more but we went the natural route...might have taken 2 years almost but it worked! good luck!

I agree. Also, I would have your DH take a fertility vitamin. Selenium and zinc work wonders for male fertiity.

Just re-reading this. when you had sex every other day, did you do it all cycle long? If you were counting 10 days past your period and then having sex for a week straight, you could be missing your O date if you tend to O early or late. I've got normal to long length cycles (ie between 28 and 31 or so) but my luteal phase (the time from when you O to the first day of your period, which should remain fairly constant from cycle to cycle) is only about 10-11 days, which means I generally don't O until CD18 or later.

this is what i was thinking when i asked about opks. If u haven't used them yet then i would start there for YOU before u go for testing. If i hadnt used them i may have never wound up pregnant - i O all over the place, early as cd12, late as cd23. Plus dh only has 12% morphology. Def send yours to a specialist either way.

Re: Low Motility
My DH has low mortality, low morphology, low EVERYTHING!
We have an appt with an urologist, but I also have fertility issues as well, and we are working with an RE.
If its been a year, then I woud discuss this with your obgyn, or if youd like to schedule an appt with an RE, then I recommend LI IVF. I go to the Melville office, and the staff are polite, pleasant and very helpful. My RE is Dr. Droesch.
Good luck

Re: Low Motility
most SA's need to repeated at least 1 month later to ensure accuracy. It could be a fluke. To put your mind to rest, I might go for the initial workout with a RE and make sure your dh gets retested. Good luck!!
