Low Morphology
I just got a call back today from Dr. Brenner at LI IVF with DH's 2nd SA results. (He had one done back in July at my OB/GYN's request and it came back very good except for a small amount of leukocytes they found. At the time, it didn't seem to be interfering with the sperm quality).
My RE wanted to repeat the test to make sure there wasn't an increase in leukocytes. Well, everything came back normal except his morphology was at a 5. Apparently, anything over 15% is considered good, but 5-11 is equivocal. So DH is coming up on the very low end. He has to follow up with a urologist to repeat the test and see what else may need to be done. Dr. Brenner said we should start making preparations for an IUI.
I don't get though why back in July DH's number was 39. Is it weird to drop so low in such a short time? Does anyone know what sort of things contribute to this problem and what DH can do to help correct it?
I'm glad we finally may have found a reason for our struggle all this time, but at the same time, I'm stressing because I can only do so much and now the ball may all be in DH's court.
Thanks

Re: Low Morphology
DH went to a Urologist and has a small vericocele which can be the problem with morphology. She recommended for DH to take Vitamin C and Zinc. Also it takes 3 months I think for sperm to mature so anything that happens in the last 3 months can cause issues. (alcohol, hottubs, underwear, sickness). maybe thats the problem. The Urologist will be able to tell also with an ultrasound if needed.
HTH good luck
