Low Maintenance photos for holiday cards?
I took my own last year but I will not be putting up a tree this year -too hard for me with 2 15 month olds that are into EVERYTHING I am thinking of taking them somewhere but can't stand the though of long lines to sit with santa Is there any hope? I just want something low maintenance, holiday decorations/festive without the lines of waiting to take photos. Low cost would be a bonus
TIA

It will be tough with 15 month old twins but Hicks nursery always has a great display for Christmas. There is a set of stairs that is decorated you may be able to get a cute shot on there.

Do you have family that lives close by that maybe you could convince to put up their tree or decorate their house a little bit early so you can take some shots there??

Milleridge Inn always has beautiful decorations. Even the village outside has plenty of picture perfect photo opps, I couldn't pass it up last year. Maybe call to ask when they decorate and go during the week?

What a nice idea! We took them there for lunch last year around the holidays.. when they were sleeping all the time... sigh.... they napped through our whole lunch! Thanks for the recommendation!

And if you're not hung up on them having holiday decorations, you could always just take them to a nice park or beach and try to get some shots.

Planting fields has the pointsettia greenhouse. There are benches and lots of people take their kids there for pics. Or reckon center (old eab building) in e meadow has holiday decor.

Do it yourself!
You don't need decorations! Dress your kids in something festive and look at holiday catalogs for guidance!
Pose in front of a mirror, or with a string of christmas lights, or in front of a nice chair.
My holiday card last year had both kids in different shades of red with their arms around each other. Used a close up portrait setting, so the background was blurry!

I do my own every year and every year I am SO excited about how they come out. I already did mine this year and I am DYING at how cute it came out. Go on pinterest or google DIY holiday photoshoot ideas. I do mine in my backyard- or at a local park- all i need is some trees and an outdoor setting without a lot of stuff in the background like buildings etc. You can get simple props- I picked up a sign last year in Target that said JOY in pretty letters with glitter. It was supposed to be something you hang on a wall or door- she held it. Came out so cute. Large ornaments also work A decorated red wagon if you have or can borrow one. It's really fun to get creative and you don't have to do it in front of a tree or the traditional Christmas setting.
