lovey in the crib?
At what age did you allow DC to sleep with their lovey?
DD is almost 4 months and getting attached to hers but I am nervous having it in the crib. Just wanted to see what others have done

3m it was a very safe one, organic cotton, breathable even if he stuffed the whole thing in his mouth air would still move through.

Re: lovey in the crib?
Around 15 months when she decided she wanted one (now it's 3!). She didn't want one before then and she slept great with nothing in her crib until then so I didn't want to mess with it.

Sorta the same story here, except he was more like 13 months or so. He never even had one, never slept with anything in the crib until then.

Re: lovey in the crib?
She received her piggy for Christmas when she was 4.5 months old and the moment she got it she was attached to it, she would stare at it and coo to it until she could cuddle it, it slept in her crib with her every night and now ever since she was 9 months, she cuddles with it in her crib for every nap and every bedtime.

Re: lovey in the crib?
DS has been sleeping with his elephant since about 4 months. my reasoning was if he can turn over and lift the lovey easily, if it's in his way either he'll move or he'll move the lovey. DH used to be paranoid and go into his room to move the elephant when DS was sleeping but there was never any need.

Re: lovey in the crib?
IMHO I would NOT put anything in the crib under at least 6 mos of age...SIDS risk is still very high. DD is 9 mos and I am just now letting her take something to bed...after asking her ped at her 9 mo checkup and she gave the ok. Maybe if you feel she must have it to go to sleep - go in and remove it from the crib once she has fallen asleep.
