Losing Patience...
I used to be such a calm person before kids now I feel like I've become a maniac. This morning I completely lost it ... Kids weren't behaving. It was one of those mornings. I yelled so loud at them I even surprised myself. I hate being this way but they pushed my buttons & I was boiling.
How do you ladies keep calm when kids repeatedly don't listen & fight with each other constantly.

Re: Losing Patience...
I don't lol
We are human. It happens Twin 3 year olds have given me grey hair lol
There are times we are having the absolute best time. And here are times where everyone is fist fighting and drawing blood and not listening and nothing else works except my loud voice and separating them
It's all Part of the process. Don't beat yourself up
When it's a super bad day. I go on the bathroom alone and take a few deep breaths and count to 20. Just collect myself and go back out into war lol
Hang in there!

Re: Losing Patience...
There was one occasion where my kids really pushed my buttons and I yelled. I felt very badly, so I apologized. We all sat down and agreed that we could all do things differently to get everyone out the door on time and in a calm way. We brainstormed ideas, I made suggestions and came up with strategies like picking out clothing the night before, setting a lunch schedule so they knew on x day they get y for lunch and snack. Remembering to pack your book bag the night before. Keeping your shoes and coat in the right places....

I totally get this! I was the calmest most patient perosn before kids too. Now my 2 year old make me want to rip my hair out at times. Then I feel horribly guilty when I yell or lose my patience with her. I have to believe its just part of parenting.

I don't. OUr family runs in phases. We have times with all is good and then times when its just hell! I lose it sometimes but I also realize that sometimes you have to. Usually when I do then we shortly after enter a good phase.

Re: Losing Patience...
Keep calm? With kids? Impossible Seriously though, I only have one and I lose it sometimes. It's normal, and I just say to myself that the good, calm times outweigh the crazy, yelling ones - so it's all good. Just know you're not alone.

Re: Losing Patience...
Oh man...I used to be calm too! Then I had twins. Now I have crawling, standing, almost walking 10 month olds and I've gone mad! LOL
I had one of those moments this morning. It's complete chaos trying to get ready for work in the morning with two mobile babies who have been awake since 5am. Either they are tired and cranky or just whining because they don't want to be blocked off in the living room. They were being nuts this AM and Dh let them out of the living room and said "go ahead! Run free!" and then goes into the bathroom to get ready. I'm getting dressed in the dining room so I can keep an eye on them and even still, they managed to creep into the kitchen and grab an empty jug (plastic) of water with the cap off. Why it was on the floor open? I have no clue...but it also wasn't empty because one of my twins dumped whatever water was left out on to the floor and herself. So while I'm TRYING to rush to get out of the house, this happens and I just shouted "NOOOOOO" I had to changed her clothes and diaper and I was annoyed! Then DH emerges from the bathroom and says "relax. It's not that serious" I almost knocked his block off! LOL. HE is the one that let them roam free! I'm exhausted.

Ugh it is exhausting! My DH always tells me to relax too...I want to knock his block off too when he says that!

Re: Losing Patience...
Me too. I was way calmer and more patient before kids. Wish I had advice, just wanted to say that I get it. It's a lot of added responsibility on us; we are all only human.

Re: Losing Patience...
Oh please... the mornings are my own personal hell....I am thisclose to turning into Joan Crawford. Just thinking about the mornings over the weekend make me want to quit my job to be a SAHM just so I don't have major time pressures on me. My 4 year old is a beast in the morning. I start out very calm and then after 20 minutes of shenanigans and saying "brush your teeth", "put on your shoes" and/or "put on your jacket" 55 times each, I usually lose it.

Losing Patience...
1st off we all go through this. And i know i always feel guilty. I only have 1 child so i cant imagine 2. Some things i try to do to stay calm: Deep breaths Step outside my front door and breath Remind myself shes a child and shes testing me I take away toys so i dont yell. She loses them for the entire day and has to earn them back the next day. Ive canceled plans
Sometimes i honestly sit and think about what happened. How it escalated and what i could have done differently. Also try to figure out what was upsetting her so much to throw a tantrum. Or misbehaving; not listening to me i walk away
I know its not totally the same as 2 kids fighting. But some things i go through when my dd misbehaves.
