looking up lawsuit details?
This is for malpractice cases. I looked on elaw and was able to find some info like plaintiffs, defendants, case index numbers. Is there anywhere online to find more details of the cases? I see some paid services, but I don't want to pay only to not find the info I'm looking for...

You can get some details on the NYS Unified Court System website

Not sure if it will be much different from what you got on eLaw

The e court system will help a lot if you know if the case is e-filed.

I think a recent, active case was efiled
I didn't see that one on the unified court website. I'll go back and try searching a different way. I don't think the older cases were efiled.
