looking for opinions-

I am on the fense back and fourth all week, month and day LOL

DH and I 1 year wedding anniversary is in April, and we want to plan a little vaca and get a away for a while.

this is the situation:
If all went well, and I am preg this cycle i will be 13 weeks preg around the time we were thinking of going to Las Vegas for a week.
I found awesome air, and we got weekday comps for the hotels so its a great and cheap vaca
my issue is, 3 month preg- how tired would i be? how would I feel? the casino so smokey etc

Then was thinking a cruise out of NY or NJ, but my mom had me worried god forbid i needed an emergency doctor and being in another county, and me possibly not feeling well on the ship

Would you book a trip? If anything i wouldn't book anything until my beta was tested

Other situation is:
If we are not preg, where should we go or do???
I cant fly bc i would be in our 1st trimester

All suggestions and help appreciated :)

DH and I are going to Aruba in May. If all goes well I will be 4 months. I think you should be fine. Although I have never been pregnant so I don't know for sure but I think you should be safe. I don't like to think negatively so I wouldn't even put it out in the universe that anything could go wrong. I love Vegas and I love cruises so I am torn for you. Lol. There are dr's on cruise ships. Chat Icon Happy planning I say!!

Re: looking for opinions-

If this is your first pregnancy, there is no way to know how you'll feel. I never had morning sickness, and travelled all throughout my pregnancy with no issues. I even went to Disney World at 34 weeks.

Have you been on a cruise before? Do you get sea sick at all? I can imagine that sea sickness plus morning sickness would kinda ruin a trip. Most cruise lines let you travel till 24 weeks, so that won't be an issue.

We are planning a trip to Dollywood this summer. I hope to be pregnant then (just had a miscarriage in Dec.). You have to go about your life and not let TTCing control everything. Whether you are pregnant or not, a vacation is good to refresh your spirits.

Re: looking for opinions-

Can you still smoke in Vegas casinos? I don't remember them being smoky at all.

Also, I'm pretty sure you can fly in your first tri. I flew to London when I was 10 weeks and had no issues. I also went to FL when I was 24 weeks.

Personally I'd rather go to Vegas b/c I'd feel more comfortable being on land if a medical issue arose. I'd also be worried about morning sickness and a boat.

Re: looking for opinions-

I was just in Vegas, the casinos are VERY smoky. You can 100% smoke there. I actually said to DH "we can't come back here once I get pregnant, this is way too much."

I don't think flying is an issue in the first trimester, though! Maybe somewhere like Miami could be fun?

Re: looking for opinions-

I am currently 13 weeks pregnant and will be traveling next wednesday. My engergy has kind of return. Just remember you need to stand up and stretch because I went away at 9weeks and i was dying my back was killing me and my legs kept falling back asleep. I was very tired on that trip but that was because I was tired overall. Now my enegery has come back and I'm less tired. I think you will be fine. Go for it!

Re: looking for opinions-

I know this is going to come off as being a Debbie Downer, BUT-

It helps to plan things just in case, BUT do not plan a whole trip around the possibility that you *might* be pregnant by then, because if it doesn't happen and you end up not having the 1 yr anniversary trip you really wanted its just going to make it sting more.

This is coming from someone who's been trying for over a year and has put off SEVERAL trips to Universal Studios Orlando because I *might* be pregnant by the time we go and it won't be fun for me.

i guess what i'm trying to say is, we all want this so bad.. but at the same time we have to remember to keep fun and keep living .. kwim?

let your doctor know first! some people can't. But if everything is looking ok its not a problem. I was scared to tell you the truth but I just had my Level 1 ultrasound and everything came back normal.

Re: looking for opinions-

With a normal pregnancy you can fly anytime up until I believe it's 36 weeks. I flew at 10 and 11 weeks and the flight was fine it was my inability to take Dramamine that sucked and I got seriously motion sick. Which always happens and is why I usually take something. Do not put anything off on the chance you may be pregnant. You don't want regrets.

I went to atlantic city the weekend we got our bfp and if I felt the smoke was too much I walked away. I'm currently 15 weeks and am just now feeling less tired but keep in mind you will have some good days and some bad just trust your body and when it's telling you to relax relax!

Re: looking for opinions-

I flew at 9, 10, and 12 weeks with no problems. I was in Vegas at 9-10 wks & had a great time but I was pretty tired but I think it was more due to lack of sleep than pregnancy. The smoke in the casinos grosses me out even when not pregnant so I spent little time in them. Go wherever you want & enjoy it!

I booked a trip in April and the flight is 11 hours. I wasn't about to plan my life around a possible pregnancy. If I'm pregnant and tired then I will have to suck it up and endure the flight. When else will I get to go on a vacation like that?

I would go to Vegas and not worry about the flight or how smoky the casinos are pregnant or not pregnant. You can't put yourself in a bubble.
