Re: looking for a chair

I would look for something in a developmental needs kind of magazine if you need straps to support your older child sitting up. A child one plus should be able to sit unassisted, which is why you would not see straps on child chairs. These types of chairs are very low to the ground and you have the option of making them taller by putting on the feet that come with it. They are not tall enough for a child to fall out and get hurt.

I don't think you will find something with straps for a 1 year old except booster seats. the chairs are low enough for them to sit and if they fall the wont get hurt if you get one of the couches like TRU sells they are so low to the ground I don't even think you can fall from it Chat Icon

He can sit up, i was thinking more for safety reasons to have belts

I am home w him alone in the AM, if he gets up too early in the am,(before i am done w my morning duties) i usually stick him in the swing and put on a DVD, but he is now getting too big so i was thinking of a plan B

I would just put him in a high chair then he can have toys on the tray etc and you can put it in front of the TV

Can you put him in a pnp or a playard? Maybe the high chair with some toys.

I forgot about this I have this but technically when you move it to rocker mode for toddlers you aren't suppose to use the strap.

you child def. can flip it over if strapped in and big enough

IMO unless you think you are going to really use it for traveling this is no different than just using a high chair. I wouldn't spend a $100 on this just to have DC strapped in the house

looking for a chair

We have the land of nod version of the pbk anywhere chair. Besides a bouncer, I think you'll have difficulty finding a chair with straps.

PNP or high chair are your best bets I think.

ITA. It doesn't even look safe to me. I can totally see my 12m old trying to climb out and it collapsing on her.

What about an exersaucer?

That's what I was going to suggest, or a jumperoo. I used a jumperoo to keep my dd safely in one place and entertained until she was a little past 2 years old.
