What a great idea for a post! I'm hoping someone can find me something. I've been loving this Restoration Hardware bedding for a long time but I can't justify the prcie! Can anyone help out?

restoration hardware is hard to match for any of their furniture, but I will try to find something like this, this should be easier.

Check out JCPenny's or Macy I think Cindy Crawfard make some just like it!!

If i could add something here.. I bought one of these chandeliers recently from PB - i too had searched on Overstock for them and saw they had what looked like the same item. However, i read all the reviews on Overstock and most people said that the products they got were nowhere near as good quality as the PB ones, they came in several different pieces that you had to assemble yourself with difficult directions, and that the metal was hollow and cheaper looking and the finish scraped off easily.
We decided to pay full price and go with the PB version for something like this.

Just saying that when something is cheaper, doesn't necessarily means its the same quality and for furniture, i'd rather have the quality and potential assurance that it will last longer.
Something like home decor is a little different though and i'm all for a bargain!

Good point, but I dont think anyone is operating under the assumption that something purchased at Target will be the same quality as Restoration Hardware....I think the point is, some people cant afford to pay those prices and to show them alternatives. Chat Icon

Target $119 for TWO!

I have these target version chairs to match a pottery barn table in my kitchen from 8 years ago and the chairs match is perfectly!

Are these a dark cherry? I need to find new kitchen chairs for my table b/c DS went through a phase where he liked to knock them over and now they are broken. My cabinets are a lighter cherry.

More of like a dark walnut... deep brown versus a red tint if that makes sense.

I actually bought the top chandelier for my dining room. I did have to put it together, but it took me only about 30 minutes and the quality is very nice. I have seen the pottery barn one in the store and didn't notice much difference in term of quality. Just more money in my pocket!

I also find people are very quick to leave a negative review, but rarely ever go back and post a good one unless its a complete rave.

Re: Look for Less LIF style

While looking for a picture of the PB product that I found at JC Penney for hundreds less, I found that DecorPad had already done the comparison in their Looks 4 Less section:

DecorPad Looks4Less

PB Console: $349
Side table: $249
Coffee table: $199. each

External Image

JCP Console: $144.99
Side Table: $144.99
Coffee Table: $144.99 each

External Image

Not to mention, the $40 "delivery surcharges" that PB charges ON TOP of the shipping and handling that you don't see till you're checking out.

Re: Look for Less LIF style

By the way, love this thread idea! I think there can be a lot of comparisons made between PB and JCP. I agree that sometimes, the quality is different, but you have to take it on an individual basis. Those items I posted were EXACT in their construction, the wood used and even measurements. For something like that, it's a no brainer to me.

That said, we have splurged at Crate and Barrel & Restoration Hardware for things that we couldn't find elsewhere and that were important to us.

Re: Look for Less LIF style

i got the PB Samantha Bench look-a- like from JCP for $100....i spray painted the wicker baskets dark and i am going to make my own cushion - the baskets and cushion that come with the bench aren't as nice as PB's but it is still less expensive to change out the baskets and DIY a cushion...

i also got black counter stools for my kitchen table at Target for $99 a chair - they look like a knock off of Crate and Barrel's Vinter collection....

I'll try and post pics later

LOVE THIS THREAD!!!!!

Yes, Cindy Crawford has something like this. I actually thought of this thread when I saw her commercial about her products. There's a similar bedding shown in the commercial. Definitely check it out.

I also bought the second one from OverStock and couldn't be happier. The quality is perfect. I too put mine together and it took less than 20min. Adding the crystals took 10 min. I kept the shades off. The look is perfect and for a diningroom fixture it's perfect! I Love, Overstock.com!!!
