Long nails or short - what's your preference?

I've stopped wearing polish on my fingernails, it chips within two days. Total waste of time.

I'm using Nail Magic to strengthen them and debating on whether I should keep them short or grow them long. I like both looks Chat Icon

So... what's your preference? Chat Icon

Short and neat. When my nails get too long I scratch myself or DS and I just don't like that look.

Short and neat.

This.

I also have stopped getting manicures with polish as often, waste of money and I don't want to try long lasting polish, afraid of ruining my nails.
Mostly I keep my nails polish free, I get a manicure once a month or so, just to keep them looking nice.
I'm really bad at applying polish myself, unless it's very sheer so I always keep Essie's mademoiselle around and apply once in a while when I'm going out or feel like changing things up a bit Chat Icon

Not super short but not too long either, if that makes any sense!

Def short and neat. I don't like when they grow past the tip of my fingers

Re: Long nails or short - what's your preference?

Short. My nails grow very strong and very quickly so I'm constantly cutting them down.

ETA: And I *never* get manicures. I don't think I've gotten one since my TTD shoot 2 years ago. Chat Icon I always paint my nails myself.

I think it can be genetic. I have pretty crappy nails and manicures chip within 2 days usually. I blame it on my dad, who also has crappy nails. I do find that buffing the ridges helps a lot though. The one time that the girl at the nail place buffed them a ton, my manicure lasted like 4 days. I was so surprised.

Just like this! Any longer and I feel dirty and any shorter my fingers don't look as nice.

Shorter
I used to wear them longer- but lately I really like the look of short neat nails.
I feel like it's more stylish or something.
Plus it's easier for typing.

Re: Long nails or short - what's your preference?

Short...in the winter they tend to peel and chip easily, so I just keep them short.

But also, if they get more than a little long, it makes taking out my contacts into a hazardous task. Chat Icon

Short and neat. I don't pay for manicures because I they get trashed too fast-- I'm always doing chores around the house, cooking, etc. I do my own nails at home frequently though.

This...I have short nail beds, so letting them grow a bit longer than the bed makes them look nicer IMO.

Short and neat. I'd rather get a mani every week than spend $$ on shellac or tips.

Re: Long nails or short - what's your preference?

Just past my finger tips. Any longer & it becomes difficult to do things comfortably, any shorter doesn't look good on me because I have a small nail bed to begin with.
