Long Island to Quebec
Anyone do this trip?
I am tempted...need to get DH on board. WE would go next week. It looks like an 10 hr trip. We are out east so could take the ferry to New London to cut down on driving and add some fun for the kids. I would like to do three stops along the way to break up the trip.
Any ideas?

The pez factory is in ct. Not sure if it's near your route. I made dh stop on our way to Newport. Hi, I'm 5.

It's a small detour but in the same direction: Burlington, VT? There's the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, Ben & Jerry's factory. I think Cabot farms is in that vicinity too

I was going to suggest Ben and Jerry's too.
It's the perfect opportunity to do it because it's too small and far from here to be a destination in itself but it's still a ton of fun.
There is the factory tour (which I believe all ages can do) with a sample at the end, a "flavor graveyard" where you can see all the flavors they no longer make, and a pretty big playground as well. And obviously they have an ice cream shop with tons of flavors.

its fun! small place but they selll a zillion types of pez for $2! and you get a bunch free w/admission. 30-45 min TOPS you would need.

We did it pre kids. It was a LONG drive. It says 10 hours, but by the time you add stops, breakfast, lunch etc, its like 13+.
It was a great trip for the 2 of us. But don't know if there was much for kids.
Loved the food up there. We did Quebec for 3 or so days then Montreal.
With kids, I'd definitely advise a stop over. We were thinking if we ever did it again, we'd stop over.

Where was this information when I went to Newport last month?? I would have stopped at pez.. Next time when we go to Vermont and Maine.. When is a good time to get a Maine lobster??

Maine lobster best mid Sept thru November.. right now theyre soft shelled and have tons of water in them. Im in Nh so Maine is just over the bridge from me. Im a big lobster eater LOL
