Long Beach Island, NJ?
DH and I are looking for a beachy town for a long weekend with no babies . Looking for info/recs here. Have never been. TIA!

i'm a born and raised jersey girl! love LBI! its a really nice, clean, relatively quiet beach area. i haven't been there for a couple years, but at least last time i was there, there wasn't any of the shady "jersey shore" type people there LOL
not sure of recs of a place to stay,because we always stayed at my friends parent's house there.... but i'm sure you can find a small condo or something. Beach Haven is a nice town on LBI. its got lots of restaurants, bars, a place with an arcade and some rides, which might be fun for a "date night". you can check out barnget lighthouse, too. i don't think you can go wrong with going there for a weekend to relax!

LBI is great!
Yes lots of house rentals in the summer season, we stay at a friends house when we visit.
"Lorry's" motel on the southern end of the island was fantastic but a bit of a drive from the main activity of amusements and restaurants. But was easy beach access on the more remote nature preserve end. They included bkfst, and had a nice patio to do your own bbq-ing.
