Logistics of flying with kids

We're flying Jet Blue out of JFK. We're planning to drive to the airport and park in long term parking. We aren't taking the car seats with us on the plane.

I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to manage our kids (5 and almost 2) and the luggage at the airport. The lot seems to be far away. Does it make sense for DH to drop the kids, luggage and me off curbside while he parks the car? Would we be able to check our bags curbside if DH has to leave to park the car? We could also bring our stuff inside and just wait for DH to come back. Has anyone done this? Any advice?

Re: Logistics of flying with kids

Last time we flew in Feb we parked at The Parking Spot at LaGuardia. It was easy bc when we pulled up the bus they had was already waiting and they took the luggage out of our car and in the bus super fast. I just took both boys and buckled them in the seats on the bus. DH took care of the luggage with the other guys. They also helped take our luggage out. I took the double stroller for convenience walking around the airport. My boys were 4 and 2 at the time. Plus, we had a super early flight and I knew they'd be tired to run around the airport.
We went on together. DH took the two suitcases himself along with his carryon backpack and I took care of the boys in the stroller with my carryon backpack. I had a bag for DS as well which counted as his carryon that had their crayons, toys, books, etc.
Once the luggage was checked it was easy. DH folded the stroller going through security and I took the boys as well. We went to Aruba so didn't bring carseats.
I didn't want to have to wait alone with the boys so early in the morning. It could be a while till DH shows with the parking. Just easier doing long term parking at Parking Spot and they shuttle you over easy enough.

We did that at JFK and used a luggage cart to help dh carry the luggage. I had younger dd (8 months in the stroller and dd 3 walked.

DH has pulled up to the curb in the past and we do curbside check in and then he goes and takes care of the car (we usually use the Parking Spot). I stay at the terminal with the kids and some carry-ons and wait for him to come back.

We just did this in April. My Dh dropped off me and DD at the curb, I put her in the stroller and took 1 piece of luggage and 1 carry on with me. We waited inside until DH came back from parking the car and he had 2 pieces of luggage with him. Then we all checked in together.

How long did it take for him to come back? I'm a little worried about dealing with DS2 and the luggage for a while.

DH drops us at curbside check in, we check the bags and he leaves me with the two kids to park. He has taken my older daughter with him a few times because she loves the AirTrain. I want to say it takes him about 20-30 minutes to drive there, park, take the AirTrain back.

Ugh it took too long, like 30 mins. My DD was getting cranky cause it was very early and we were both hungry. We're flying again in Oct, same airline, same time, and I want DH to drop us off again and I'd like to check in and go through security with DD while DH goes to park. I'm not sure if we can even do that or if we have to check in all together, but it would be a lot easier to go through with her and grab breakfast on the other side while we wait for him to come back.
