LIRR etiquette question.....
Putting perfume on in the train when there are people sitting next to you. Is this ok, or am I being unreasonable as I try and breathe through my shirt?

Not acceptable! I for one, am extremely sensitive to perfumes, they give me migraines!

Re: LIRR etiquette question.....
that's right up there with eating stinky food or spraying hairspray......
only thing worse in my book is making tons of noise, being drunk, or smoking....

I think "LIRR" and "Etiquette" in the same sentence is an oxymoron

OMG I HATE HATE HATE that perfume!! You can smell it a mile away. A very good friend of mine wears it. When I was still single and we would go out I would have to leave my car windows open for two days after she was in it to get rid of the smell!!!
UGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And no, it is not acceptable to put on perfume while you are sitting on the train!!!

Re: LIRR etiquette question.....
This was an older woman too, who should have known better. What prompted her to spritz before the train left Penn??? If she was concerned abt smelling like that awful crap, why not put it on as she was leaving the train outside????

Re: LIRR etiquette question.....
I would never do that - I would feel bad for those around me because such strong scents can make people feel sick!
