LIRR annoyances
have any new ones?
Over the last few days I am noticing more and more asshats that insist on listening to their ipods at ridiculous volumes..I heard that stupid Beyonce tune on the train this morning. I decided to sing along with it...

I had that problem this morning. I just thought I was extra pissy having not slept well since Saturday night. Damn insomnia.

Re: LIRR annoyances
I can almost see why they are so loud -- it feels like EVERYONE on the train is really loud. I can barely read anymore because of people talking loudly, cell phone chatter, cell phone rings, games beeping.

Re: LIRR annoyances
quiet train this morning except for two guys in the doorway talking...
Beyonce loud as if I was listening to it in my own headphones.
4 rows up from where I was sitting...
also Mr. Nextel was last night coming home. He made sure he got up and walked up and down the aisle a few times to make it look like he was important.
Push to talk needs to go away...

Re: LIRR annoyances
I think between the iPods and the snoring that I am going to lose my mind. Not to mention the fact that in the morning I am the 1st stop (ronkonkoma) so there are masses of people waiting to get on the train that pulls in LATE everyday and if one more freaking person pushes me over to get a seat ( I am 6 months pg) I am going to hit them with my bag! What is WRONG with people????

Thankfully, I don't commute on the train, but if I were there with you I would have joined in on the karaoke!

Re: LIRR annoyances
I listen to my iPod loud when the train is extra noisy and I want to drown everyone out. But if it's a quiet train I lower it.
It's a lot of TOOLS that take the LIRR... So glad I'm not in the city anymore.

Re: LIRR annoyances
hearing the music through these earbuds is terrible. It's scratchy and not pleasant.
I usually say something but I thought doing some karaoke was better.

Can I use it?
Please do.
You may also use the noun form of ******, which is, of course, pissosity.
In a sentence:
That dude with the loud music ****** me off to the highest level of pissosity this morning.

Re: LIRR annoyances
last week I got on the train at Penn and there were some people putting their bags up on the racks..etc..blocking the aisle..so I waited in back of them to get settled before making my way down the aisle..this guy in back of me decides he has to get through and says excuse me and tries to get past me..he climbed over those people to get a few rows in..I called him an azzhole and so did some othe passengers. I said, you couldn't wait 10 seconds? He ended up not getting a seat at all..serves him right.

That might be a more appropriate discussion for the butt-related threads of way back when (aka yesterday).

Re: LIRR annoyances
There was a drunk guy on the way home the other night. The conductor had to scream to wake him up to give her the ticket. He was screaming and cursing the whole way home.
I also got the snotty look when asked someone if I could sit in the seat occupied by his bag. I hate that!

Re: LIRR annoyances
Ok this is not really a vent, but something I find amusing:
The people who fly out of the train door as soon as they open and run to their cars because they need to be the first one out of the parking lot... I mean does that 30 seconds really make that much of a difference in your life?
And not so amusing: those same people peel out of their spots and don't look where they are going - I once saw once almost hit another car doing the dame thing, and another time almost hit a woman walking to her car.
