LIRR and work
Anybody's train messed up ? What compromises did your job offer? I am in V.S and power is out so can't work from home. Most of my dept live in BKlyn so they just don't get it.

Im on the Ronkonkoma line. It was running ok this morning (6.24am train)

Trains were running yesterday to the City. No direct to Brooklyn but it was feasble.
DH said most people were at work yesterday. Those who did not come were leaving much farther way or with train issues like NJ and upstate.
Do you belong to a gym? I would go get ready there to go to work. Or go to friends/family to take a shower.

yesterday it took me 3 hours to get into work. we werent penalized for commuting related lateness. only if we didnt come in.

Sorry should add that the sitter has no electricity either.
DH is with them today but if this power doesnt come on soon guess I'll use my vacation days.
Wish my job had some kind of plan in place but looks like most jobs dont.

I live in VS and got into work just fine today. The Far Rockaway line is running. They actually had an express from VS to Penn this morning when I got there.

Yesterday work was understanding but at this point I think they expect you will find a way in.
Some folks are working from home and others are taking PTO.

DH was at the ronkonkoma train yesterday and no trains came and the website kept saying they were running on time. Today his train was only 25 mins late. Yesterday he worked from home because luckily we have power.
