My kids are a lot younger... But we do go to a lot of shows.

Where you sit makes a big difference.

Unfortunately, my kids are so good if they are right up front (even off to the side). The tickets are so $$, this is difficult... But at 5, maybe your kid will do better.

No. not a good idea.

If he cant sit through the movie he wont be able to sit through the show.

Is it because its scarey? The musical also has the death scene, and there is a lot od scarey things, so on that front, dont take him.

Is it an attention span thing? If it is I dont have an opinion.

But the musical IS scarey.

We took my DD for her 4th birthday (along with her 5 year old sister who had seen 2 other B'way shows by that point) and she really enjoyed it. She sat still, wasn't scared, etc.

She said he CAN sit through a movie Chat Icon

I'm sure it would be fine, just be prepared to leave and waste your $$$$ if he can't.

I took my 5 year old to Mary Poppins last year for her 5th birthday, sat two rows from the stage, center. We both lasted until intermission. The seats are SMALL in that theater though, and it was beyond uncomfortable. I didn't mind though since I used miles for the tickets.

Absolutely would- I might do a matinee though 1- cheaper, 2- easier for most kids to focus during the day

have you seen it? I LOVE Broadway - to me, even when it's not so great, it's still great -

and I personally thought the Lion King was god awful boring .........I wouldn't take my kids
