Lindenhurst Village vent
It is bad enough that NO side streets in the Village got properly plowed... everything is just packed down snow and a sheet of ice barely wide enough for a car to get through.
But add to that the fact that we haven't had garbage pickup since LAST WEDNESDAy and I am ready to kick someone. Apparently some areas got their trash picked up on Tuesday (not our regular day... totally random) and they were supposed to come today but did not.
95% of the time I love where I live, but right now I'm drowning in garbage and am very cranky about that.

My husband and I were just saying this morning how all of our garbage plus our whole block has not received a pick up...and wondering when it's going to be. Hope we get one soon!

Ours was still out there this morning. The entrance to our road is horrible, so narrow especially since it's off of Wellwood

Oh please. Don't even get me started on this freaking place. I hate it here. We are putting our house on the market soon. I'm so pizzed that I pay village taxes and for what? Jack squat that's what!
If it makes you feel better, sanitation came around noon on my block today so maybe they will get to you at some point today. They changed the schedule last week but didn't notify anyone. Yet another example of the fine administration running the village.
I freaked out about this last year also. When I called, I was informed that the sanitation workers do the plowing so that's what the hold up was. Awesome. It's called sub contractors. Hire them. My whole neighborhood had a week's worth of trash piled up in snow drifts. What curb appeal!
I am infuriated that every other place in the TOB has adequate plowing and yet my block is a complete nightmare. Honestly, I really wish they would just unincorporate the place. There is absolutely nothing appealing about "the village". I am really hard pressed to even call it that. If I lived in Babylon, Huntington or Sayville I would not be complaining because at least I could see what my village taxes went towards. Here it goes towards stupid street signs that are illegible and maintaining that gazebo so the town derelicts have a place to hang out.
I hope I'm not offending anyone. You just hit a sore spot.

Oh really? The one in the park by Waldbaums? Haha...see how much I pay attention? DH was carrying on the other day about how beautiful the new eagle statue is by the intersection of Wellwood and Hoffman. I had no idea what he was talking about so he insisted on doing a driveby to show me. I mentioned that I thought we should stop by every local bar to see if we could locate all of the plowers while we were out. He did not appreciate that. LOL
