Likelihood of having a second boy after having a son?
My MIL told me her doctor once said your chances of having another boy after having a son increase - so that it is more likely to have another son than it is to have a daughter if your first is a boy. In DH's family this was true: he is the oldest, then a brother, then a sister. In my family the oldest is a boy, then me, then another girl. But my mom had a miscarriage between me and my brother so not sure about that one...
For BTDT moms or even within your own siblings - has this been true for you?

In my family, there are very few boys. One in each family. I am the only person that had two boys (one in heaven). So right now I have one boy, one girl...and a  .
It all depends on your DH is what it comes down to.

It all has to do when you O.
There are fewer boy swimmers compared to girls but they can swim way faster than the broads. It's a race to the finish line

DH has a younger brother and MIL had a miscarriage in between. I have a younger brother.
We have 2 friends who have 2 boys, another with 2 girls, and another with 3 girls and then just last year had a boy.
My MIL seems to think I'll have a boy again. I really want a girl though. One of each and done.

I dont think i buy that but Hubby is the oldest and he has two younger brothers.
Also, my mom was the second and the 1st was a boy.

I'm with Roz on what it all comes down to.
I'm one of 3 girls and DH is the youngest with an older sister so I can't go by that. My parents is doesn't work out either. For DH's parents it does. Seems like it's just a 50/50 shot.

That's been true for DH's family. He is one of 2 boys, his brother has 3 boys, his dad's an only child, but his grandfather and great grandfather both had brothers.
In fact, DD is the first girl in my DH's family in 5 generations!

My Dh is the oldest of 3 boys... so for it was true for his mom I guess! But my coworker's first born was a boy and 2nd DC was a girl. So I just think its a 50/50 shot. (Although, I do have a feeling I'm going to be a boy mom again, when i eventually go for my 2nd!)

I've never heard of this. I always thought you've got a 50/50 shot each time. I have two girls, but we know families with all the possible combinations.

I've heard theories that some women only have girls or only have boys due to their body's pH. My mom's mom had 5 babies, all girls. I know another woman who has 5, all boys. I'm sure most people know examples of this also. Of course this could just randomly happen but it would make sense that it could be the mom's body causing this.

But thinking about friends growing up and stuff, it seems like I most often saw
Our first was a boy, and we'll know in a week if it's true for us. I have a feeling it is.

This sounds like BS to me every pregnancy you have a 50/50 chance IMO and once you have that little boy believe me you won't mind at all if the next is a little boy

First, two things:
1. I am totally crashing because, although I have a son, he is definitely my last so we'll never know.
2. I don't buy it. I think it's random every time. But what the hell do I know.

My college biology teacher told me (years ago ) that no matter how many children you have, its still a 50/50 chance whether you have a boy or a girl.

Dh's family was all boys till dd came along. Dh is one of 3 boys and he has a and a and we are for this baby. His older brother has 2 and his younger brother doesn't have any kids.
I have 2 sisters. I have a and. My oldest sister is in heaven and had no children and my other sister has no children.
So in dh's case it wasn't true bc he had a boy first and then a girl.
