Liam will NOT sleep at daycare!
He took two 20 minute cat naps. That's it! He does this mostly every day. He has never slept well during the day. I think once he took a 4 hour nap (and that was at an outdoor concert in September believe it or not) but to be honest i don't really remember him sleeping more than 3 hours ever other than that. And lately it's little catnaps. You hold him and he'll sleep alright, but once you put him down - forget it, he's awake. And it makes him cranky!!!
I just don't know what to tell daycare. They try everything. They rock him, they hold him, swing, bouncy seat, etc. I asked if they swaddled him and the one girl didn't know what I meant (?!?) so I said use the receiving blanket to snugly wrap him. Normally they try the sleep sack I have there but I don't know, at this point I'm willing to try anything with them. I know it's not them as he doesn't nap well at home either. Even before daycare started he never napped well at home unless I was holding him the entire time.
However he sleeps fine at night! It's very strange.
Any ideas what I can do?!?!?!

does he have a blankie at home he sleeps with. Maybe send in one of his blankies or even one of your shirts so he smells you and feels comfortable.

Re: Liam will NOT sleep at daycare!
I'm not sure how old Liam is but Ryan is 4 months and still not a great napper. He only recently started taking 40 min every 2 hours....sometimes he'll go for 2+ hours but it's very rare. I think it works itself out over time - the night sleep definitely is better and this is normal from what I"ve read.

Kerri always slept like a champ at night but would not nap no matter what....when she turned 4 months it was like a switch went off and she started napping....hope the same happens for Liam

Re: Liam will NOT sleep at daycare!
There might be too much activity/noise for him to sleep. Hey, as long as he's sleeping at night, then I wouldn't worry about it.
Some kids just don't take long naps!

Liam is 4 1/2 months old. I hope that will start happening. He used to nap OK (not great but not bad) at home when I was on maternity leave but ever since he started daycare he doesn't nap well at all. I hope it does work itself out. He only gets 8 hours at night (he does sleep through the night though thankfully). I am in the process of getting him to bed earlier. But it is hard, I don't get home until 6:30pm, then one more bottle, then bath...by that time we hardly have time to just relax and enjoy each other

He does sleep great at night but by the time we get him to bed sometimes it's 9pm! That is because of the way his bottle schedule is - I have to talk to the ped about that. Last time I mentioned it the ped said he didnt want Liam doing 4 bottles of 8 oz a day he said once he's doing soilds that will be fine but not before then. So I do three 6 oz bottles and two 7 oz ones and space them 3.5 hours apart. So if he gets his first one at 7am, then it's 9pm before he even GETS the last bottle. So that means either 1) we shorten the space to every 3 hours or 2)give him the bottle at 5am. The 5am works for now since we have to be out the door with him by 6:15am to bring him to daycare and catch the train at 7:12 to NYC (I hate commuting, have I mentioned that yet?) and then his last bottle is at 7am but like I said to get him in bed by 8pm it's bottle, then bath, then bed and really no "together" time you know what I mean?
I I really would love to work from home. Still do daycare but at least I'd be closer and he wouldn't be there 6:30am to 5:45pm like he is now Technically I can do it but I don't know if my firm would be condusive to the idea
