How much should I spend on Jordana's daycare workers?
Since we are leaving the daycare- I still want to give them something. I got them gifts for $25 and DH told me I am spending too much $. What do you think?
ETA: My favorite worker was let go, but I am giving her a separate gift.
ETA: She was only there for 5 months.

I think $25 is good. I am biased because I am a day care director, but they take care of our most prized possessions. I gave the lead teacher $50 and the assistants $30 (I am their boss though)

I don't think that is too much. They work very hard for not much $$ and I think they would appreciate that very much. I think its the perfect amount

I dont think that is too much at all-
When I worked in daycare in the pre-k classroom my gifts ranged for $25 to $50

Re: How much should I spend on Jordana's daycare workers?
I wouldn't give them $$$$
I would send in a nice platter of cookies or something.
DD was only in her daycare for 3 months, and we wanted to give them something, but didn't want to give them money or gift cards, if she was there for at least 6 months we def would have done something more.
We brought in some cookies and candy and they were very appreciative! Maybe some bagels and cream cheese in the am.

That's not a bad idea. Maybe I was will get them something nice from Godiva. I am getting the teacher that left last month something nice. But one of the women I have only seen a handful of times and the other woman isn't so nice. I can't tell you how many times I walked into the room and didn't get as much as a "hello" from her.
Its just that there is so much tipping! i have to give my 5 doormen, my secretary a nice gift (since she is leaving), super, etc... It just adds up. And she was only there for 5 months- and we are leaving the daycare... I'm torn.

That's what I would do. I usually give the head teacher $50, the assistant around $35, and I bring in a box of Godiva for all the other little helpers that come in once in a while and help out. If you're pulling Jordana out, I don't think money is an appropriate gift, so perhaps you can just get one of the medium sized boxes of Godiva and leave it in the room with a thank you card directed to all?

I wasn't sure waht to do. I gave $30 cash to the two ladies who seem to run the infant room most of the day. They are very sweet and caring and one of them is over the moon with Liam. Then I got a box of Godiva chocolates as a gift from a vendor at work and they were the nice new "designer" chocolates from Godiva. My colleague didn't want hers (!) so she gave it to me. I gave one box to the girls up front (the director and administrator) and 1 to the staff in the infant room. I wanted to give more to the lady that works from 3pm to 6pm because she's so nice but I dind't have $ to give more. Plus then I'd have to give to the girl in the morning who comes in before the 2 that normally work in the infant room come in, but I'm not too crazy about her so I didn't want to give to one and not the other so I just let it at that. I may slip the evening lady $20 on Friday, we'll see.
Is $30 alot? For 2 months? I really thought giving less looked cheap. And when you think of it, they see Liam more during the day than I do...!

Wow. I have never given that much. I actually spent about $50 for all 4 teachers. They collected $10/child for my daughter's elementary teacher.

Re: How much should I spend on Jordana's daycare workers?
DS only goes 2 days a week and there are 4 teahcers and 2 after school teachers.
I bought them all chocolate covered pretzels and I *think* I am giving the head teacher $25 and the rest $10 or $15 gift cards to Target. I feel a little cheap but he only goes twice a week and there are SIX people

I have 4 which is the most teacher's either of the kids have ever had. I spent about $12 each but they were nice food gifts from Costco.
