Levitz
Since we moved in to our house we bought about $7000 worth of furniture from Levitz (living room, bedroom, dining room).
We didn't have the best experience all though we love the furniture.
With our bedroom set they told us they delivered it when we never got it. It took like a month to investigate before we finally got it.
Then the dining room set has been nothing but problems. Lots of pieces were damaged, I've had things replaced 3 times already. It was a nightmare.
I called their customer service # and I spoke to the rep's supervisor's supervisor. All he wanted to do was offer me $50 store credit.
I was insulted that after having to stay home 6 times for them to attempt to get it right (and it still isn't) that's all they would do.
So I wrote a letter to the CEO and I got a call within 2 days. They are refunding the delivery charges, instead of replacement parts they are giving me a whole new table, chair and bar/server and a $200 credit for levitz.
I have to say that I am quite impressed on their speedy response time. I just wish that the people I spent hours on the phone arguing with could have resolved it without having to write a letter. i wasn't looking for free things just my furniture in PERFECT condition as I should expect. But anyway..I'll stop blabbing. When all else fails..Write a LETTER!

Good for you!! 
We had a terrible experience with Levitz that they never cared to resolve for us no matter who we spoke to or wrote to (they lost any future business as a result).

That is so great! I'm so glad that was resolved for you... you definitely deserve furniture in perfect condition.
We had a great experience with Levitz (everything delivered on time and in perfect condition).

Glad it worked out. I've had nothing but issues with Levitz..never again.
But you are right. The squeeky wheel gets the oil.

i'm glad you were able to get it resolved. we've had nothing but bad experiences with levitz's! my sister had ordered a new bedroom set for my nephews and they estimated delivery in 2 weeks...well on the day it was scheduled to be delivered my sister got a letter in the mail (A LETTER!!! ) stating that they are out of stock and wont have the furniture in for another month and a half!!! my sister is very non-confrontational so i went down to the store to raise some hell!!! all they did at the customer service desk was cancel my order and tell me my refund check on my deposit would be mailed to me within 2 weeks...2 weeks came and went and no check! i called the C/S # and yelled at them too! Nothing! I called every other day for about a month to have them tell me that they can issue me a store credit cause they are no longer issuing refund checks!!! !!!!!
i will NEVER EVER EVER EVER buy anything from Levitz's again!!!!
I should've done what you did and wrote a letter to the CEO. How did you get the address where to mail it to???

i asked for someone higher and he told me, "THEY DON"T SPEAK TO CUSTOMERS"
wooowwwww I was like excuse me? my purchase is helping pay for their salary.
after about 10 minutes i got this address:
Mr. Tom Baumlin CEO, Levitz 300 Crossways Park Drive Woodbury, New York 11797
Like I said they responded within 2 days and the woman was very nice.

Wow. Sorry for your experience! We have used Levitz 3 times in 13 years and only have had good results. We just got a couch and loveseat and was told the couch would not be in for 5 weeks but I got a call the next day that is was available so I got both peices in 3 days! I also always take the 0% interest so I have time to pay it off. Just paid off the dining room table so now I am on to the couches!! Next will probably be a new mattress-lol!!

thats why we went with them too. we have 0% for like 3 years. it was just so fustrating and the reps could care less. i didn't think it was right. but im happy with the way they treated me. now what am i going to do with the $200 credit they are giving me????

I bought a living room set from Levitz some time ago and had nothing but problems. The couch came with a damaged arm and I needed a replacement. After 4 deliveries of still damaged furniture, I had enough. I kept getting the runaround and, it wasn't until I threatened a lawsuit, that I, finally, got the furniture in good condition. The furniture is great and is holding up really well, but, Levitz is a horror show.
