Level I/Nuchal Translucency

How far along were you when you had yours? Did you get the sono and/or the blood test? How long did it take to get the results?

Did you get a guess as to whether Chat Icon orChat Icon ?

TIA I'm excited and nervous!!

Re: Level I/Nuchal Translucency

first part of the test for us was at 12 weeks. it involved blood and an ultrasound.

second part of the test is at 16 weeks and is blood test only.

it entirely depends on your u/s tech as to whether or not he or she will venture a guess. Mine flat out REFUSED to say anything until 20 weeks...

my doctor called it the sequential screen... it's a two part test that gives you your odds on downs among a few other related issues...

Re: Level I/Nuchal Translucency

It should be done between 11 weeks and 13 weeks. It's a combination sono/blood test. Depending on the Dr. and how they adminster the test you either have your results immediately or within a week.

At my 10 week OB appointment, I was given the blood collection kit (it's a finger prick) to send in my blood sample about 9 days prior to my sono. They had my results the day of the sono.

Most sono techs won't venture a guess to the gender since it's still very early on and difficult to tell.

Re: Level I/Nuchal Translucency

i am getting mine done @ 12 weeks.

with my 1st the tech told us we were having a Chat Icon, and said she was wrong maybe 5% of the time.

well she was correct and at 16 weeks he was confirmed Chat Icon

we are hoping to find out next week (i will be 12 weeks) if its a Chat Icon or Chat Icon

we are thinking PINK

Re: Level I/Nuchal Translucency

I had the sono at 12 weeks and the blood test between 15 and 16 weeks. I got the blood test results about 2 weeks later and the sono results right away b/c i saw the doctor immediately after.

I didn't want to know the sex of the baby b/c I knew there was a chance they may be wrong.

Good luck!

Re: Level I/Nuchal Translucency

I had mine done recently and we took a peak and really we are just not sure. The tech said at this point it could go either way. If you get a clear shot of the nub you can tell but it's very hard to get that because their so small and wiggly. G/L
