level 2 at madonna question

my level 2 is tomorrow at madonna perinatal and i am SO excited! i don't see my doctor until the week after though to go over the results.

does madonna tell you if something looks wrong with the baby at the appointment? or will i have to wait another week? is there a doctor on staff to come in and look if the sono tech thinks the brain or heart doesn't look right?

TIA!

Yes, I believe they do have a Dr thats there to look at the sono if something doesn't look right. When I was at my last appt, I asked the girl if everything is ok, and she said they have a dr that looks over the sono's and if something doesn't look right they will let us know right away.

Re: level 2 at madonna question

I went to the Babylon office twice....The first time for the Ultra Screen scan and then for the Level 2. At both tests I asked the tech if everything looked ok and she said "I cannot comment. I am not a doctor." That made me a little nervous!!! Just be aware they are not legally allowed to read/interpret the scans, even though I think they definitely would know if something was wrong.

My results were fine, but they weren't too good with the report sending....they didn't automatically send them to my Dr.... Both times my Dr. had to call weeks later at my next OB appointment for the results, so make sure that you follow up.Chat Icon

Have fun and enjoy the scan...It is incredible to see the baby on their high tech equiptment!!!!

Re: level 2 at madonna question

I had my level 2 at Madonna and I don't remember them telling me any kind of results. The tech couldn't get all the pictures she needed, so I had to go back a 2nd time.

Re: level 2 at madonna question

I went to the one in Mineola. They NEVER told me any kind of results there. They told that my dr. would let me know.

One thing they told me. It takes a few days/1 week to get results in average. If there is something "wrong", they contact you very quickly.

Re: level 2 at madonna question

I went to the one in Mineola and I was asking specific questions about the neucal fold measurements. She was able to tell me what the "normal range" was and what this baby was measuring. I asked a lot of questions so I felt good when I left.

This is my second child and fourth pregnancy though so I kinda had certain things that I was concerned about.

They didn't give me any results - they aren''t aloud to. I wonder though if there was serious problem if they would call your doctor's office that day and then your office would call you.

I am sure they will tell you when you go for your appointment how often the doctor reads the scans...I would hope there is a Dr. on staff daily.

Enjoy the scan!!Chat Icon

Re: level 2 at madonna question

My doctor told me the Madonna in Minneola is high risk and she prefers people go there, because if something IS wrong, they have genetic counselors right there that you can speak to right away, where other places the radiology tech isn't allowed to say anything.
