Let's Talk Laundry Mats
I know this topic sounds kind of silly
I moved a couple of months ago to a new place that does not have a w/d hookup. Needless to say it's a challenge with all the laundry a newborn and eight year old boy create! The laundry mat that is very close to me isn't that great, although, I guess I don't really know what a great laundry mat would consist of. I did try drop off service, but a lot of stuff I don't like to be dryed so I figured it's just easier (and cheaper) to do it myself.
They have a couple of "economy" washers that are 1.00, but they always seem to be broken or taken. Then there are the ones that are 2.25, 3.25, 4.25 and 5.25 for the super load. The dryers are .25 per eight minutes. Does this sound comparable to other places?
Do you go to a great laundry mat and want to share the location? I should mention that I live in Selden.

Re: Let's Talk Laundry Mats
The dryer price sounds about right, but the washing machines sound kind of expensive to me. Where I am, a washing machine (2 loads) is usually $1.25.
Would you consider splitting it? Dropping off the stuff that can be washed & dried, and then doing the rest yourself? That's what I do. I don't know if it's the most economical, but sanity-wise, it helps.

That actually sounds like a good price to me. Where we go it's .25 cents for 6 minutes on the dryer, plus the loads start at 2.75 for the washer and go up from there.
