Let's talk Gardening!
It's our first time that we get to garden now that we have a backyard! I'm really excited. Would love to hear your pointers, what products you love, what you plant, etc.
Were going to do flowers in the front and then a lot of veggies in the backyard.

Re: Let's talk Gardening!
I am just getting into gardening this spring. Found alot of ideas on pinterest!
I have an empty area in the front of my house where we removed a dead bush so i would like to do this in that space with the blue lobelia spilling out of a large planter and the mulch
another idea i plan to try is using the wooden fence alongside my driveway as my potted herb garden. like this here:
I planted seeds and am currently keeping them indoors while they germinate so we shall see how that turns out. We didn't have much $$ to work on gardening but the seeds make it more affordable...provided I can actually grow them into flowering plants.
One thing I learned was that epsom salt is a great eco alternative to enrich your soil grass and plants as it is super rich in magnesium sulfate. you can get it at the dollar store and dilute it with water and water your plants and flowers with it...even your grass.

What kind of sunlight do you have?
I would say my biggest challange is planning height for deeper gardens. I messed this up in the front and they are all perennials. I am trying to fix it this year. But, try to keep shorter stuff to the front. I have no idea why we didn't pay attention to plant height.

Re: Let's talk Gardening!
like you it's my first time having a backyard, looking forwarding to planting flowers in the front and veggies in the back.
Ok, so I went to HD two weeks ago and got some seeds for eggplant, tomato and hot peppers. I got other seeds as well but started the tomatoes, eggplant and peppers inside. So far they just starting to pop out of the dirt. It's so cool
you may want to get a head start on some seeds, HD, Lowes, Walmart and Kmart had tons of stuff.
Fun stuff, good luck. .... I'm going to be staring my herb garden soon too. Waiting to do the cucumber and other stuff next week. OH, I'm also making some beds for spinach.

I LOVE the herb garden on the fence idea. So CUTE!
Headed to get some seeds and things this weekend - so excited! Congrats on getting sprouts so early on!
I can't wait until we just have tomatoes upon tomatoes to eat out of our garden. We get really good sunlight in our backyard so I'm excited.
