Let's talk Central Air

Really wish I would have been asking this question in Jan, however DH and I are debating about central air.

We have a high-ranch, existing ductwork. our furnace (gas) is only about 8 years old.

Just want to add the unit, one zone, but we only have 100 amps.

Any idea on ballpark cost?

I'm not sure of the CAC cost but I don't know that I'd be comfortable running it on 100AMPs Chat Icon It'd be about $1k to upgrade to 150, $1500 to upgrade to 200 amps. IMO that would be totally worth adding to the cost of the CAC if you're going to do it.

Re: Let's talk Central Air

The electrical upgrade will probably run around 1500-2000.

The central air system probably around 5000-7000 to use existing ductwork.
