Let's play "Assign the Blame"

I have NO sense of smell. It has to be EXTREMELY strong for me to smell something.

DH is cooking. He leaves a pot of chicken soup & a pot of sauce with meatballs in it.

I go off to help out some friends with some stuff.

Come back. DH tells me he's taking Maddie out for christmas lights. He calls at least SIX times to discuss stores, that have the lights he wants, directions, etc.

He's gone for two hours. I'm downstairs doing laundry, setting the DVR for Jets games (that was Call #3). I come upstairs & start coughing. I see that the sauce is burning. I take it off add water & think to myself "Why would he leave me in charge of cooking. Where the F is he?"

I go back downstairs in my quest for an empty laundryroom.

I come upstairs & start coughing immediately. I go to the store & realize the chicken soup is burning. Actually it's no longer the chicken soup. It's actually the pot that's burning.

So assign the blame. Feel free to use percentages.

It's parenting related because he took Maddie with him to the store & I'm going to feed her meatball sandwiches instead of pasta tonight.

Did he leave you "in charge" of the soup and the meatballs or did he just assume that he didn't need to remind you and you would just look out for it? If it's the lather then it's his fault.

He didn't leave me in charge of the soup, ask me to stir it or mention it at all during the calls.

When I said something about the soup earlier before he left, he said "Leave it. The vegetables are boilling"

Silly man for thinking he can go out for hours and his food would not burn. Not only is it his fault you should make him eat it.

Considering he didn't mention anything about the pot (making you in charge, stirring, etc)...

I say, his fault!

Re: Let's play "Assign the Blame"

Easy math!!! 100% his fault.

Unless you specifically tell me to take care of something, I don't.

I also cannot smell burning food. Although I am better than I was. 20 years ago, I let a chicken burn in the oven to complete black (I *think* they *may* have mentioned to watch the chicken though Chat Icon ). I did not smell a thing. My parents smelled it 100 yards away outside our place.
