Lena Dunham Accused of Molesting Sister - Excerpts from book

Not quite sure what to think - on one hand, curiosity about the human body is part of our human nature, on the other, the way she described it is unsettling. Not sure if the media is reaching, or if there is some truth to it. Of course, as a writer, it is probably an amalgamation of both truth and fiction.

I read about this last night. While I certainly do not think this warrants a accusation of molestation, why did anyone need to know this story? LOL

ETA: I would like to retract my statement about being labeled a molester... All of this information was not available earlier!

I'm liberal in my views & what she describes is not kids experimenting. It is her sexually "experimenting with" also known as molesting her younger sister.

What I don't understand is how an editor/publisher or whatever let this get published with this story in it? Unless they were hoping the negative publicity would drive sales (which is not surprising but still sick).

I don't know - I'm NOT a fan of hers, by an stretch. I find her to be a victim, a whiner - a "oh the world so horrible to me' b/c I don't look like Barbie type - I think calling her a child molestor is a huge stretch - She was a child herself (and the words she's choosing, she's choosing NOW, as an adult with a different perspective, not the mind of a 7 year old)

I did buy the book and began reading it .........out of curiosity. She IS very successful and she does have a huge following. I always think maybe I'm missing something.

Honestly? I think she's just a sad, pathetic, not particularly attractive girl who just can't get past the idea that she doesn't look like Jessica Alba ......
She claims all of these injustices in the world - She shouldn't HAVE to be pretty, skinny, etc etc (and that is true) HOWEVER, she is just so obsessed and hung up on it, that I feel like she's a huge phony - She's not really happy with herself and accepting of who she is as a person - she's completely whining about how she isn't pretty, isn't skinny, doesn't have a boyfriend, not sure if she she wants a girlfriedn instead - I feel like this chick has NO clue who she is.

But that's just my take on the first 1/2 of the book - I may be clouded by the fact that I find her repulsive to begin with. I'm trying to keep an open mind ..........

I won't read it.
But from the comments alone it sounds pretty disturbing.
And she probably just killed her career. Which I would have no problem with.

ETA: since I didn't read the book or article. Does it say how her sister feels about this being out there?

Besides the molestation part how about she said she took a perverse pleasure in informing her sister about their grandfathers death and a fire at a neighbors house in the hopes of instilling fear I to her so she would find comfort in Lena.

Sorry it's a little different when two kids are checking each other's privates out compared to bribing a child with candy to do things. I sincerely hope she has embellished for a shock value and little of this is true.

I think saying she molested her sister is a HUGE stretch. However, she's not helping herself by comparing her actions to those of a sexual predator.

Also, I don't understand celebrities putting shit out there and then getting upset when people comment.
