Leggings ?: Where should the line be drawn
I see A LOT of women this season wearing leggings "as pants".
I think a few women can pull it off (i.e. tall and super-skinny) but IMO, this is a look that should not go beyond one's living room or yoga studio.
Especially because so many leggings are cheaply made and show EVERYTHING.
IMO, leggings for the average woman look good with a longer shirt or sweater that covers that a$$.
Where do you stand on this "issue".

Re: Leggings ?: Where should the line be drawn
I only wear leggings with sweater dresses or long tunics. If my top doesn't come down to my mid thighs I feel under dressed.

Re: Leggings ?: Where should the line be drawn
as long as the top covers your azz you're good in my book.
I won't buy certain leggings because they're too sheer!

I agree with you 100%
My rule is- if you can see my entire azz or my camel toe- then the shirt is too short for leggings. Period.

Re: Leggings ?: Where should the line be drawn
I don't understand how so many people are wearing leggings as pants... I have TWO long sweaters and ONE pair of leggings and I rarely wear them. Leggings really do show everything if you don't have a long enough shirt... lol

Re: Leggings ?: Where should the line be drawn
IMO your top should cover the back AND front. That goes for pregnant women too! A PG girl I work with wear waist length t-shirts with long cardigans and leggings and its not OK (nevermind that we're business casual but that's another topic)!

I agree with you. I find leggings very comfortable but I just wear them with long shirts, sweaters, tunics, etc.

Re: Leggings ?: Where should the line be drawn
i wear leggings all the time. i wear them with long sweaters, sweater dresses, or tunic length shirts and usually kneehigh boots in colder weather, and flats in warmer weather..
if im wearing a shorter shirt with them its just to knock around the house in them.

This is my opinion on leggings, summarized in a picture. As long as your "private sector" is covered, you are good to go.

agreed
No matter what size or shape you are, as long as it's not sheer and it covers your behind, I have no problem.

Re: Leggings ?: Where should the line be drawn
I do not have the shape for leggings so I will not be wearing them. There are people who wear then who have no business wearing them.

I agree....
I have put on weight in the last year and a half.. and it also fluctuates a lot from fertility drugs. Leggings saves me...... I can't wear jeans anymore

Here is a very helpful flow chart to figure out if you are wearing pants:

Re: Leggings ?: Where should the line be drawn
As long as your azz is fully covered by a long top that in the front is also long enough to fall AT LEAST 2 inches below your cro-tch, you are good to go!

Re: Leggings ?: Where should the line be drawn
Im going to get ripped a new one for this Im sure, but it is what it is.
I think leggings should only be worn by tall thin folks. Just because you can, doesnt mean you should is my saying with them.
That said, a long tunic that covers the beef and bootay. I see wat to many plus size woman wear them that have NO business wearing them.
~signed the plus size chick who wears them to bed ONLY.

leggings are not pants. ever.
In my store we sell these great ponte knit leggings that are really pants. They are so thick, definitely qualifies as pants however the PROBLEM is that many people wear the look all wrong. It's supposed to with longer tunic style sweaters only, I see so many people wearing them with regular shirts. You need to cover your rear end...

Re: Leggings ?: Where should the line be drawn
I'm skinny and not short, but would NEVER wear leggings as pants, hate the look, especially when some women wear sheer leggings , I want to yell at them- buy a mirror! I don't care how beautiful your body is, no woman should wear leggings as pants.

Re: Leggings ?: Where should the line be drawn
The line should be drawn under your bum. If your shirt/dress doesn't hit there, wear real pants.

Re: Leggings ?: Where should the line be drawn
I wear leggings with sweater dresses and tunics that go at least to mid thigh. I agree that they aren't pants. But I'm pregnant and for the last few months of this pregnancy I don't care what people think of me because they are comfortable and that is my first concern until January.
And I am also surprised by how many leggings are almost completely sheer when you put them on. Unless my legs are just too girthy .
