LED Christmas lights...
Anyone feel like they just too harsh looking? I'm returning over $200 in Christmas lights and light up candy canes b/c I feel like it makes my house look like a light up neon bar sign.
I love the look of regular white lights outside, but we were trying to be energy efficient by using LED. It's not even like we can mix them together either bc the colors are just so different.

they are CRAZY bright!!! we just got new ones yesterday, and decided to go with lcd..our tree looks like a disco ball

Last year our village did some trees in their old lights and some in LED and it looked so stupid. Half the lights were that dim, almost off white color and the other half were SO bright and almost blue in color, they were suppose to be white but idk, maybe they are just SO bright that it's almost blue. Whatever, I really like the old looking ones better. If only they could make energy efficient, nice subdued lights.

They do! I just returned $200 in LED bright white (aka blue) and saw soft white LED lights that look just like regular white lights. I love the way they look now.

We passed a house that had these on & I commented on how it looked harsh = but at "neon bar sign".

Every year DH wants to get them, but I just can't do it. They hurt my eyes and don't look Christmas-y at all. And the white lights look blue to me.

We had the regular white LED lights the past few years, and you're right, they looked soooo bright and I didn't really like them. But some stores now sell LED Lights in "warm white" which actually looks like regular white lights. I got them this year and they look so much better!  I got mine at CVS. I think they're made by GE.

I can't stand them honestly. Way too bright! I still stick with the old fashioned boring lights! We use colored and multi colored lights.

DH wanted the LEDs and I told him I don't like them because they look blue. He kept insisting "NO they're white" and i said "Yes i know they're white but they LOOK blue". He didn't get it until he was at Home Depot and saw them in person. They are wayyyy too harsh for residential decorating IMO.

I got the LED warm white lights by Philips and they look really nice. They dont look blue or crazy bright to me at all.
