leaving the hopital
well It might depend on the hospital that you deilver but do they give you a diper bag and stuff when you leave?

I didn't get one from NSUH.
I think they gave me some formula but I don't really remember, I BFed.

I delivered at Southside and they gave me a diaper bag. I still use it because it was a small one. They also let us take all the supplies that were in the rolling crib with Ryan when he was there, diapers, formula, and all kinds of goodies. We even took the blankets they used for sentimental reasons. We went to town.

The woman who was in the bed next to me was EBF and she gave me the formula they gave to her. So yes, they did give her some to take home but she didnt want it.

When I had my son, at the end of the day before I wheeled him back to the nursery I would empty out the bassinet (there was formula, diapers, undershirt, blankets) and my husband would take the goodies home. They tell you to take all that stuff. This was at Winthrup Hospital.

i delievered at LIJ and i got a diaper bag, some formula, diapers, vaseline.a nose syringe, and a whole bunch of other lil stuff.

I delivered at Stony Brook (and I think you are too). I received a diaper bag from Enfamil. I think they had Similac ones as well, but I got that one since she was on Enfamil at the hospital. The diaper bag is nice for being free. If you sign up for the sibling class at SB (it's free), you also get the same diaper bag with a can of formula and 2 ice packs as a surprise at the end of the class.

Formula companies spend a ton of money on these "free" diaper bags. They want you to use their formula. If you BF you can take it and give the formula to a food drive. That is what I did.

I delivered at Huntington and I got a Similac diaper bag
ETA: I got an Enfamil diaper bag from my ob office and also from the ped office
