Re: le creuset

The French oven and Dutch oven are exactly the same - just different terminology.

I had been thinking about investing in one for a long time and just finally got one for my birthday a couple of months ago. I cannot say enough good things about it!!! It is completely worth the investment.

I got the 5 1/2 quart round. It is plenty big enough to make things for at least 4 people - depending on what you are making. I felt the 7 1/2 quart was going to be too big since we only planned on having a family of four. The 5 1/2 quart would be plenty big enough for sauce and pot roast.

I got the purple color (cassis) because it's my favorite color. I didn't care if it went with my kitchen or not.

We got ours from the Williams-Sonoma outlet at Tanger Outlets because they had the color I wanted there. There is also a Le Creuset outlet at Tanger that has great prices. I would definitely recommend checking them out.

Re: le creuset

I just got it in chili red. Love it! I want more pots, and I want them to match. I don't think a classic red would be discontinued anytime soon, but a more fun coors might be.

Re: le creuset

check Marshall's, too. I got 2 pieces from there. Both blue. I have the 5 1/2 quart which is great for pot roasts, etc. But with 4 kids it's not big enough when I need to double a recipe.

Definately check Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Home Goods, they always have them for much less.

There's a Le Creuset outlet in Riverhead! They have great deals too.
