Late...
Not sure if this is the right board to be posting on...so I'm sorry if it's not...but gotta question
I finished my last pack of BC in November. We are not TTC but I just became tired of taking it and the side effects when we BD less than once a month. In December, my period came exactly on time as if I was still on the pill. This month, I was due the 13th, so now 2 days late. We BD once around New Year's but with a condom. I am having no PMS symptoms and before BC, my period would fluctuate like 3 days early or 3 days late, within that. I am reading up online...of course...and some people are saying, a missed period is pregnancy and others say it's my body readjusting after being on BC. If it is the aftermath of the BC, how long might it be til I'm regular again?
Again, sorry if this is the wrong place, just thought you ladies might know!
TIA

Re: Late...
Your body can definitely take a few months, at least, to adjust after birth control. It's normal for your cycles to get longer by a few days or by 10 or 20 days. You can take a pregnancy test just in case, and if it's negative, just wait a few more days before testing again.

Re: Late...
It can take several months at least to regulate after coming off the pill. My cycles became longer, up to 35 days, after I stopped the pill, and now 5 months later, still don't seem to be regular.

Re: Late...
I agree with the PP, it could take a few cycles for your body to regulate itself. Just to be on the safe side though, did you take a test?

Re: Late...
No test yet...still waiting a bit...
Glad to hear this doesn't seem to be abnormal. Anyway, seems like it can be frustrating! I just hope PMS symptoms don't get wacky as far as timing since before BC, that was my way of knowing I was getting it whether early or late...
Thanks so much to all of you who responded! I'll keep you posted

Re: Late...
Were your cycles pretty normal before BCP? If so and you still don't get AF in a few days I would take a test. Because some people do end up pregnant right after stopping the pill...it only takes one time!
Ever since stopping BCP my cycles have pretty much been like clock work (except for last month).
