Laser: Bikini Area

Anyone have this done? Thoughts? How much did it cost?

I have a consultation but I'm nervous to go through with it. And the cost scares me too...I haven't been quoted anything yet but I can only imagine.

I'm going for my first appointment today. I already did the consult. She said it hurts less than waxing, I guess I will see if that's true later!! I used Groupon & got 6 sessions for $199 & I have seen this special 3 times since at different spas on Groupon.

I had it done about 5 or 6 years ago. It kind of hurt, but not too bad. I have very sensitive skin, so sometimes it would leave marks afterwards because the laser is burning the hair follicle beneath the skin. But, the more treatments you do, the better it gets because you will have less and less hair. I found it to be completely worth it. The hair is completely gone and my skin is very smooth. It makes wearing a bikini soooo much easier!

Re: Laser: Bikini Area

on my 5th session- Great results.

Best thing I did...cost was about $125 each session.

ETA: I did Brazilian, not bikini. I dont know if that makes a difference.

Re: Laser: Bikini Area

It depends on the machine they use...

I'm getting "brazillian" done for $120 a session. My sister says it hurt like a ***** but only took 2 sessions.
I forget what the machine is, but they have this thing that blows freezing air on the area to numb before they fire laser.

I had other areas done, and it took 8 sessions to kill all the hair, the machine was IPL and was pain free, but it ended up costing me a lot, and hair still came back a few years later.

I've done it twice and I paid $800 for a lifetime and I can go as many times as I want. Not seeing great results yet, but I can tell a difference.

Can you tell me where you are going? Also do we need to let the hair grow out to get this done? Tia

You do not need to let the hair grow in. Yu actually shave it before you go. I didn't know that and was like a beast for a few weeks for no reasonChat Icon

Re: Laser: Bikini Area

I should wait for this groupon package. I have a consultation Sunday at Sleek Med Spa (in Boston). Not sure on the price but they said right now it's under $1000 because they have a special but can't guarantee me it (6 sessions included).

I also have a consultation for Monday which I think I'm going to cancel. It's $1100 for the bikini line, $1300 for thong area, and $1450 for brazilian.

THAT'S ALOT OF $$$!!!!

Should I be shaved for my consultation?

I bought a groupon too..although I'm doing Brazilian and not bikini only. I went for my first appt 2 weeks ago and I'm so excited to keep going. Did it hurt..yes, but it was totally tolerable and definiately quicker and less painful then waxing!

Re: Laser: Bikini Area

I'm totally doing this..Will do it after my baby is born in May...actually will probably do it next fall so, i'm all done for the following summer....

I have spent so much in waxing over the years, and it grows back so fast..i totally think its worth the money.

Yes, you will.

She normally wont laser someone who is pg, its somewhat a liability if something happens. Not something anyone would want on them.

Re: Laser: Bikini Area

I pay $175.00 for my bikini and includes armpit. They use Epi-light laser. I started three treatments before the summer and decided to wait due to sunning myself. So I'm starting up again in November.

Yes important to note the melanin in skin attracts the light and can cause you to get burned by the laser so they will usually NOT laser you if you're tan!
