Oh boy... I was hoping something changed since the last time I was PG... my DH does the worst job.

He doesn't remember and I don't like to nag him about it because the cat was my idea. Yuck! Chat Icon

My Dr said I have probably already been exposed to whatever it is you can catch (I forgot the name of it) But I should stop anyway.

I welcome the break but DH HATES doing it. I feel bad. Sometimes I have had to change it if she pooped and it smelled really bad. I didn't want to wait until DH got home from work. I just held a washcloth over my nose and mouth while I changed it.

Toxoplasmosis. And yeah the chances of us having been exposed to it are so high if we've had a cat for awhile, so it probably doesn't make a difference - but still a precaution that should be taken if possible.

I met with the midwife last Saturday and she asked if we had cats and I told her yes that they were indoor and she said I can change the box if I wear a mask and gloves. I still make DH do it but if you need to I would just wear the gloves and mask, just stock up at Home Depot lol maybe get a scooper with an extra long handle

Yes, this is exactly what I do. As I mentioned above I have to change our hospital cat's litter everyday so I just wear a mask, use gloves and wash my hands with hot soapy water afterwards.

Re: ladies with cats

I stopped, but I kinda looking forward to sharing the chore again since DH doesn't do the best job. He does good, but I like to scrub the pan when I change it and really get it super clean.

Tell him you can't breathe in the fumes lol.

that's how I get out of bleaching the toilet! lol.

I stopped. I've had my indoor cats for 3 years, but I still take precaution. if I HAVE too, like really have to, I wear a mask and rubber gloves.

Same here. He must be doing something different because it needs changing sooner now.

I will have to do it myself for a few days while my DH is away but I plan on wearing gloves and making sure the each box has been changed before he leaves.
