Ladies having Maternity pics taken
Are you getting your hair and makeup done for the photos? It just occurred to me that I should do this but, ugh, its another added expense.

nah. i did my own hair and m/u for my engagement shoot a few years back. i think i can make it work for this.
plus i dont feel like spending the extra money on it

I just had mine and I did my own hair and make-up. We had a casual shoot, just wore jeans and a white shirt and I also changed into a maxi dress. I wanted to look natural and like myself so I did my own. I couldnt see paying the expense w/a baby on the way.

I've always done my own for my maternity pics.. and I will do my own again this time around.. Although I will be getting a haircut, only b/c I'm in need of one

I did non traditional maternity pics - more like family pics with my DH and DS. I did my own hair and my own makeup, but if you do that, make SURE you use more makeup than your normally do.
For example, I just normally wear powder on my face, no foundation. For the pics, I used foundation, then powder, and applied full eye shadow and a little darker blush. In the pics, my makeup actually looks very natural, like I'm not wearing that much, but my skin looks really nice.

with my first daughter - my MIL did my makeup and hair
this past weekend i got my hair done and makeup - very natural though (you can see my album)

No. The photographer I used actually told me to stay as natural as possible b/c the pics turn out better. She said to wear minimal make up and keep my hair how I usually wear it. I also did maternity pics with my first child and used a different photographer who felt the same way.
